View Full Version : For all the Durant haters...

1. He plays in a real ass conference. He's now facing a second CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER team in the playoffs BEFORE THE FINALS.
2. He didn't collude with TWO OTHER SUPERSTARS...NOT ONCE...BUT TWICE...IN AN ALREADY HISTORICALLY WEAK CONFERENCE. Westbrook is a GREAT player, but they definitely do NOT have that consistent THIRD scoring SUPERSTAR.
Durant is arguably the SECOND best player in the world behind Curry and you must have PERSPECTIVE when assessing him.
IMAGINE KD playing with Wade, Bosh, Irving, Love, etc...and having the HIGHEST PAYROLL IN THE LEAGUE IN A HISTORICALLY WEAK CONFERENCE...HE WOULD MAKE THE FINALS EVERY SINGLE SEASON.

I logged in yesterday for maybe 5 minutes and saw another poster bump one of your threads... Believe it was something to do with not faulting OKC for Golden State making an "epic comeback".
You called it, so props there.
There's some merit to this post as well, though. The Warriors are an ATG team and KD, as you pointed out, never ran to stack the deck in a pathetic conference of all places (twice). They built this squad from the ground up, ditto with Golden State, who just happens to be...better.
Curry & co will completely redeem themselves with a win Monday night.

Also, eventually, KD will pass Kobe. At that point are you going to go back and try to delete all of your threads propping up Durant?

Nobody cares about those.
Let's look at the actuals facts: He choked in the biggest game of his career. He let his stacked team down. His teammates kept the game close despite his horrible play.

Here we go again. He plays WITH RUSSELL WESTBROOK A TOP 5 PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE who has been carrying his ass all postseason. And you're here complaining about his team.
How many players have that luxury? To be clearly outplayed by a teammate and still have a chance at getting to the finals?
His team was good enough to keep him in the game when he was chucking. It was up to HIM to bring them home. His guys supported him. HE's the one who let his team down not the other way around.
He has a 20.2 PER in the playoffs. He's had more mediocre games than good ones. This is someone who is supposed to be a top 3 player.
I'm tired of you guys giving these guys passes just because you like them. Hold everybody accountable. If OKC loses this series I don't want to see you or anybody else letting him off the hook. It's not like he's doing his job and he's not getting support, it's the other way around. He's the one FAILING his team.

Westbrook is so much better right now
And saying "what if he did what Lebron did" doesn't make him a better player. Lebron still owns him
Westbrook was 10-27 last night, made huge errors down the stretch, went 0-5 from 3 and had 5 turnovers.
But whatever helps your agenda. :lol

Durant's cast on this year's Thunder is absolutely, unequivicoally better than any cast LeGirth has had in his entire career.

Durant's obviously been worse than Westbrook these playoffs(who might actually be the 2nd best player in the world right now). His shot selection has been bad and his shot has been off and he has more to's than assists. He's even shooting worse than lebron from 3 and his advanced stats are shit compared to the regular season. Tbf, Durant's been awesome on defense but that's not nearly enough to make up him being worse on offense.

Durant 10-31
1-7 on 4th quarter with 2 turnovers.
Westbrook also had 11 assists and 9 rebounds and 4 steals

Nah it's not the same thing.
Durant's teammates are keeping him in the game, he has a teammate clearly outplaying him...all he has to do is play decent basketball and he's in the finals. He doesn't even have to be great.
You can't play the worst basketball of you're season when you're in a position like this. He looked weak out there.
I was rooting for OKC and rooting for the Warriors to lose and he let me down big time.
...Sounds like CP3 last year versus Houston

Why do people confuse hate with a full understanding of ones game and their capabilities? :confusedshrug:
I've seen lebron play live so many times and it's not hard to understand what kind of player he is and the shortcuts he tries to take.
Is 6 ECF finals appearances impressive? Sure but it's not out of the realm of possibility that another superstar player in his shoes couldn't have done the same thing in the current east. It's not hard to see the big picture. If he was as good as his stans thinks he is, he'd be 5/7 after this years finals. He's not, so people need to quit being biased simply because he's the best THEY ever saw.

Durant would get a pass for losing if he wasn't playing so stupidly. I dont care if Curry and Klay got hot and he lost a shootout.
But he was throwing up 3s and chucking shots. That's aside from the dumb turnovers.
He got a pass in game 2 and game 5 when he lost. Game 6? After all the hardwork he put in on defense? His teammates put in all series long?
Even he wouldnt give himself a pass for that.

05-29-2016, 04:07 PM
It's not only this game though. He's been off pretty much every other game. He had like a 7/33 fg game against Dallas, he's at 27% from 3 and at low 40 fg%. Sure Westbrook had a terrible game also yesterday but KD is the one who lost them the game.

Most people(including myself) thought the thunder were pretenders. They did choke this game and prolly the series but they've proven they have enough to win, that's the most important thing for them going forward.
Big picture is they knocked out a historically great defensive team and were up 3-1 against one of the best teams ever.

Westbrook couldn't even make the playoffs without KD as has been proven.Missed the playoffs by one game, and only because the Spurs rested all their starters against the Pelicans. Also Westbrook was digging okc out of a deep hole to even have a chance at making the playoffs, if he was healthy for the season OKC makes the playoffs for sure. Weak ass argument.

I don't hate KD I just think he's soft and his length does impede him of certain attributes as a player. Nonetheless I would gladly take him in a Laker's jersey. If Lebron can become a "winner" so can Durant - anything is possible.
Pau is a soft ass nikka - next to Kobe he's a two time champion.
