Tore my Achilles in 2003 while coming down from a rebound. The immediate feeling is that someone threw a rock or tennis ball at the bag of your foot. That's how it feels. No immediate pain. Shit sucks. I haven't played basketball competition since. I'm no millionaire like Kobe so I stuck to non surgery.

I've been lucky enough to avoid the Achilles tears; ditto on no major knee ailments as of yet.
My most serious injury was likely the ruptured tendon in my hand around 2007. Strangely, it didn't hurt a ton (until post-surgery when I missed a round of painkillers) but it probably still stands as the biggest deal in terms of ailments.
My most painful basketball injury may be a toss up between my broken wrist and a couple of my worst ankle sprains. And even then, the pain never tipped the scales, but each hurt enough to be more than a little annoying. My parents made me hold a frying pan with my broken wrist to prove to me that I needed medical attention and that hurt really good. And there's been a couple of day-after situations where I've had to literally crawl out of bed and around the house following ankle injuries.
In fact, I'm pretty sure I've wrecked each of my ankles enough that I'm eventually going to need to have those surgically addressed.

I'm getting pretty old so I've had several. I've had some pretty bad ankle sprains, a pulled groin and plantar facitis.

Two partially (almost fully) torn ankle ligaments. Heard two loud cracks/pops as I hit the concrete.

My right ankle is completely broken yet I am still able to walk on it and play regularly. Just like how you can crack your finger joints, I can crack my right ankle, I do it everyday. It is impossible for me to roll my right ankle because it has been broken for years yet I feel no pain. A blessing in disguise maybe, but I have a feeling like I wont be able to walk on it when I'm 70

Ouch. That feels like my right shoulder. Ran into a car while biking. Slammed my shoulder into that shit.

The worst injury I sustained is tearing my ACL after leading from a dunk... the worst thing about it is that i missed it. i ended up playing about 4 days later, was able to keep it up for about three days did i went to jump and made the injury a lot worse.
