I'd take him for 8-10 million, but he's not worth more, even with the bloated cap space

I don't want him in LA for anything over $10 mill a season - maybe $12 mil with new cap. Not a penny more. Sorry. :ohwell:

Good. Dude was massively overrated and only made the All Star team because he plays in the Least.

10 million is the max any team should pay him. Dude is too one dimensional, can't shoot and play defense. Lakers need to stay away from Derozan type players.

In fairness to him he was pretty good in the conference finals, and he finally showed up.

23 ppg on 50 FG%, 3.3 apg, 3.2 rpg, 0.7 spg, 0.2 bpg. Like Kevin Love, He's a perfect 3rd scoring option.

One of the best slashers and midrange shooters in the game. 10mil?? Hes worth atleast 16-17 and will get paid max by somebody.

He's a horrible overall player.
Toronto just has this history of WOAT level players being their first option, just like Bargnani, who's probably the very worst player of all time

They're "not that high on signing Derozan" because they can't:oldlol: Derozan would never leave this Raptor team for the dumpster fire that is LA.:oldlol:

They should give him the max. He reminds me of prime Kobe. Only difference is that derozan doesn't have a 3ball.

92 mill cap space in the waiting. "Dumpster fire" will be back in at most 3 years.

Don't want him unless he agrees to an LA discount and we happen to get KD too + Boogie.

Still think this is all smokescreen. I think he comes home. It would be much dumber for us to give Clarkson 12-15 mil per year versus giving Derozan the max. Derozan is a legit 6'6"+ in shoes, only 26, one of the most athletic wings in the game, has continued to work on his game and hasn't hit his ceiling yet. Also, the simple truth is that he was clearly the 2nd best player on a team that made the ECF. He can get to the rack, which is a talent in itself. He would look good in purple and gold.

which is a major handicap in today's game ( unless you are lebron james)

Lakers are not paying Clarkson that ridiculous amount. Derozan is an overrated player who is not worth anywhere near max money. Dude can't even shoot and is lazy on defense. Lakers aren't high on him. Thankfully you're not running the team.

guys like Barnes and Batum are pretty much guaranteed to get the max, do people really think Derozan isn't worth at least 15 mil :facepalm

Your statement holds 100% true if the cap was restricted for years to come but it's not. We can do a lot worse than signing a guy like Deorzan to the max. A max which will only rise in the near future. I would much prefer two way studs in George or Butler but that's not realistic. Derozan is. It's not a signing I would do cartwheels over but would be happy if we did.

In a world where a limited, always hurt Bradley Beal is getting the max, than Clarkson will get 16-18 imo.

Derozan is a ball stopper. Lakers already have Nick Young and Lou Williams. No need for another dribble for 10 seconds iso contested jumpshot player. On a young team like the Lakers and in a golden state like offense, he's a cancer.

Lakers should go big for game changers like Paul George or Jimmy Butler. Hell if they miss, it's okay, just develop the young guys and try again next season. You don't want to be stuck with Derozan's untradeable contract when a Lakers team featuring him as #1 option wouldn't even make the playoffs on the West.

I see where you're coming from in that some Laker fans don't want to get desparate and are willing to wait. But PG and JB are pipe dreams. And comparing Lou and Young to a guy like Derozan is a joke. Granted Lou can get HOT in stretches but Derozan gave you 23.5 ppg at the age of 26 and went to the line more than anyone outside of Harden. You can't teach that. He is a talent.

What world are these 8-12 million at best people living in? Thompson got 90 million to come off the bench. Bradley Beal is about to get 22 millio na season for a 17/3 season he started 35 games in. Kanter is on a max deal to post up 4 times a game, make 1 midrange jumper, and give up the basket 11 times. But a prime 23/5/4 swingman who just took his team to the conference finals is worth 8 million?

Gotta get the old ideas of "worth" out of your heads.
