Just honest answer. Why Blatt was fired?

Cause of Lebron obviously, he got sick of actually having to answer to a coach so he had him fired. If you look at his career he never really had a true coach that could tell him what he should and should not do.

Yes.

Just cross-compare this year's competition to last year's, and ask who would even be able to give the Cavaliers a run for their money? The Bulls—who were much closer to eliminating the Cavaliers than many narrativize—dropped off with the ousting of Tom Thibodeau, and that's left the Raptors as their biggest threat—a team that was taken to 7 games both by the playoffs-fringe Pacers and a depleted Heat team.

Standings-wise, the Eastern Conference has definitely improved, but you can't equate that to a more competitive playoffs picture. There is a difference between having more playoffs-contention teams and title-contention teams. With the drop-off of the Bulls and consequential injuries to the Heat, it's hard to argue that the Cavaliers have had to face tougher title-contention competition in the Eastern Conference Playoffs under Tyronn Lue than they did with David Blatt last year; that stratosphere became even more narrow.

Either way, the Cavaliers hardly needed stellar coaching to advance to the finals to begin with. There simply haven't been any stacked, playoffs-proven and well-coached teams that they've had to face en route to it.

yes they probably would have.

He was fired because the players didn't like him.

Yes. There weren't any adjustments made during or in between games by Lue, Cavs are just too heads and shoulders above any other team in the East.

It's not a simple matter of would they have made it. It's would they have been playing as good as they are now? I think the clear answer is no. I watched a ton of the cavs last year. At no time did it look as good as it does now even during their dominance post trades.
