73-9 best team record wise in NBA history. How much would beating this team and winning Finals MVP boost Lebron's legacy?

barely.

the only way to step up his legacy to solid top 5 is to come play ball on western conf. if not, he's always behind mj and kobe.

If the Cavs were to win this series it would be huge, for sure. How huge? Can't really say until I see how it would unfold.

For Lebron fans...it would mean everything. The elation and bragging would be historic.

For NBA fans....it would mean he is one step closer to being a finals winner...still 3/7. Now if he equalizes it to 4/8 or 5/9 then he can enter the vaunted top 5.

3/7 still looks terrible

Since many, many fans love a good storyline (present company included, to a degree), LeBron James taking down the 73-9 Golden State Warriors en route to leading Cleveland to its first NBA title in history would be too juicy to not talk about for years and years.

Assuming they didn't win in spite of him (extremely unlikely), it should theoretically be one of the signature moments in basketball history.

On the flip side, Golden State wrapping up a 73-win season with a championship would also be an epic finish to an incredible season. The NBA can't lose.

Assuming he wins FMVP in a series win, or is even a good candidate for FMVP, I think it would definitely solidify his career and position in the top-10 all time best basketball players.

He's already consensus top 10

Arguable top 5

Didn't you see ESPN and SI?

Nobody credible ranks LeBron outside the top 10

And he's closer to 5 than 10

If he leads his team and gets FMVP, he enters the top 5.
In other scenarios, he stays in top 7-8 as now.

From a legacy point of view, it

Bolded...

But seriously, he isn't better than 7 or 8 at VERY best right now with a 2/6 finals record. This will help,

But ZERO way he is better than the top 3 and 4-6 are very tightly contested.

A lot. He would be beating the best player by far.

If curry wins he just beats a proven loser so it doesnt change his rank much.

Doesn't change much for me, he has already won multiples titles and individual awards, will still be around the top 10 players ever.

it would boost it from a very low negative legacy rating to a low one. come now - guy's been in the neg ever since the decision.
