View Full Version : Ranking the players in the finals 1-10...

You don't compare positions...you rank the players one by one.

1. Curry
2. Irving/Bran
3. Bran/Irving
4. Love
5. Green
6. Klay
7. J.R. Smith
8. Iggy
9. Thompson
10. Delly/Frye/Bogut/Barnes

The Cavs have the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th best players in the series.

They have the highest payroll in the league and are by far the most stacked team in the league. They also faced zero adversity in the eastern conference playoffs and are well rested.

You Bran apologists can hide all you want since you live in a fantasy world, anyway, but people with a high basketball IQ know the Cavs are easily the favorites.

obvious from this post that you have no bball iq. Green's a head of Love if you're looking at regular season, Klay's ahead for possibly both and definitely playoffs. Especially when you account for defense, no way in hell both are below love. Putting Delly in the same tier as two of GS's starters and Frye is idiotic too(Frye should be above all 3 possibly even Thompson).

Green was exposed in the OKC series and Thompson plays a much larger role than Frye for the Cavs.

Get real.

you say Green did bad in the playoffs yet ignore Frye shooting like 60% from 3. That ofc is still ignoring how you could put Klay below Love when he's been a top 5 player in the playoffs. How could anyone take this type of shit seriously.

Anyone that thinks Klay is better than Love is nuts.

Love is just playing a reduced role in order to prop up the NBA's darling.

Put Klay on his own team with Love's former teammates and it'd be a disaster.

Frye is playing great and that just reiterates how stacked the Cavs are, but Thomson's defense and rebounding is obviously more important to them.

Only a complete idiot would rank a non-all star above an all-star.

Especially a NON-All star in the weaker East versus a Western all-star

LeBron

Curry

Klay

Draymond

Irving

GSW has 3 out of the 4 best players in this series. No excuses

devil's advocate - wasn't Love and Irving on pretty bad, non-playoff, teams prior to the Big3 Cavs as well? Love and Irving have reality of never being good enough to carry the team through whereas your ASSumption of Klay is all based on fallacy to drive agendas

Love won 40 games in the bloodbath west with a bad supporting cast and had the greatest impact out of any player in the league on any team's success.

Irving played 3 years without Bran with the worst rosters in the NBA surrounding him.

Bran manipulated both of these players' status and chose them to collude with because they never made the playoffs, but he knew they just didn't have enough help and the narrative of him carrying them would be easy to lean on.

Love's last season without Bran...

According to any metric, Kevin Love looks like one of the most special offensive players in the league. Obviously, he's a dominant rebounder, but he's also:
2nd in PPG at 26.3
3rd in FT made
3rd in Offensive Win Shares (after Durant and LeBron)
He's 6th in ASPM this season (a Statistical Plus-Minus here: 2014 ASPM | DStats)
1st in IPV (Individual Player Value is a RAPM-stat with an SPM prior, here: Talking Practice)
He has a 5.4 NPI (Non Prior Informed) RAPM which is higher than Durant, Curry, LeBron, Paul George, Harden, Carmelo.

If you think Irving is just flat out better, that's your choice.

However, I think Bran is closer than you think.

he's a troll - Klay has had one of the better playoff runs out of all players this postseason. one of the sole reasons GSW is even in the Finals right now. his game 6, and 2/3rd qtr of game 7 sealed won the series for the Warriors.

The Timberwolves would've made the playoffs in the east in Love's last season. They would've made it based on the schedule they actually played, but they were 17-13 against the east and would've been a higher seed had they played an eastern conference schedule.

You think Klay could lead that roster to the playoffs in the east?

Absolutely not.

Klay's a system star, not an individual star.

in terms of who the best players are right now ...

1. Curry
2. Bran
3. Klay
4. Irving
5. Green
6. Love
7. Iggy
8. JR Smith
9. Thompson
10. Frye

for me.

Thats what happens when you build a team organically though, guys like klay, and green, if they were drafted to the Bucks or something they would be barely all star players at best. Green would probably just be a role player. But through their perserverence TOGETHER for a loong time, they have been able to carve a GOAT level chemistry that makes every piece shine brighter.

The Cavs were hand picked and thrown together, so their "stars" are performing at the same level or worse than they did on their own .. thats what happens when you just slap a bunch of shit together.
