View Full Version : Why are we ignoring the biggest mismatch of this series? Steve Kerr vs Tyronn Lue

The Warriors have a coaching staff of Kerr, Walton, & R. Adams while the Cavs are led by Tyronn Lue, a guy who is known to be embarrassed by Allen Iverson and a guy who was ignored by Shaq as a player because he was a bench warmer. From what I saw in this game I wasn't too impressed with Lue, he basically used the same defensive strategy on Curry that Blatt implemented last year and it didn't work, the Warriors supporting cast just destroyed the Cavs with all the defensive attention on Curry. I also thought he played his starters too much and didn't trust his bench enough, every starter excluding Thompson played 38+ MPG, by the 4th quarter this backfired because you saw some of the Cavs players lost some intensity.
Give credit to the Warriors though, this game proved how versatile they are, with Curry & Klay having bad games they still won by a big margin thanks to their bench and their defense, the Warriors ability to switch on defense goes unnoticed at times, they have multiple guys who can defend several positions.

Well Steve Kerr got outcoached by Billy Donovan, a rookie coach just like Tyrone Lue, now all of a sudden hes like a GOAT coach.

pretty simple. He looked like he was doing a great job in the playoffs. I think his mistake was pretty simple, he's trying to slow the game down with post ups because he's worried about the transition game like Blatt did last year even though that doesn't fit their roster this year. Cleveland had no rhythm even when they took back the lead.

I feel like some of you don't even remember how the Warriors played in 2014 before Kerr got there. Kerr basically changed this team's identity on offense, and has them playing on a historic level.

Players decide the game. Warriors are a 73 win team bro. Theyre the most stacked in history.
Kerr is a terrific coach but thats not the issue. GS has way more talent.

Billy Donovan is a decorated coach whose won championships in other leagues. Tyronne Lue is a former assistant coach who was thrust into HC mid season because he could communicate with all the homies.
that's the difference.

WarriorHater will tell you that Kerr is incompetent.
Same with NIC's teammates. All of them worthless.
This team would be nothing without Glass.

We went from Blatt outcoaching Kerr last year in most of the finals to this guy. Adjustments need to be made, but I don't know if Lue is just too stubborn to make them or not.

That man still can't get over that Mark Jackson got fired and Kerr is doing historic things atm. :lol Randomly added Luke's record and then mentioned Kerr's in RS in a conversation when there was literally 0 reason to do so about a week ago.
