Russell had 40 against the Lakers in game seven of the '62 Finals (to go along with 30 points.)

BTW, Russell beefed up his playoff stats in his five finals against the Lakers in the decade of the 60's. He actually faced them six time, but did absolutely nothing against them in the one series in which Chamberlain was a Laker.

Wilt never faced the Lakers even once in that decade.

Too bad too, because in that same season in which Russell had that 30-40 game, Chamberlain averaged 52 ppg against LA in their nine regular season H2H's, including a monumental 78-43 game.
