Magic send: Elfrid Payton + Nikola Vucevic + 2016 #11 draft pick
Magic Receive: WCS + #8

Kings send: WCS + #8
Kings receive: Elfrid Payton + Vucevic + 2016 #11 draft pick

This is kind of contingent on the Kings trading Boogie which I think is a possibility this offseason.
Kings fans, thoughts?

If Kings trade Boogie, why would they want to get rid of WCS?

Any team that has Vucevic gets a big bonus. Very good big man and doesn't bitch like a little girl like Cousins. I'd take Vucevic over any of those other guys any day.

You want to trade Elf and Vuc for WCS? I would have thought that would have been a poor deal for Orl. Difference between 8 and 11 isn't much this year.

Moving up 3 spots is important to me because we get Murray

if the kings trade boogie this is really good for the kings. Wouldn't do it if I were the Magic unless I were desperate for the better fit in WCS. Still, don't think the Kings have anything else to offer besides picks.

Magic can only offer trash players. Kings dont pick up phome

I think it's interesting. If the Kings move DMC they can probably get a starting PG if they don't think Payton fits the mold. Then, they have Vuc to fill DMC's spot and a pick to do whatever with. The Magic get a better fit in the backcourt with Oladipo (imo payton and dipo can't play in the same backcourt consistently) and get a big who can switch and defend the rim like vogel wants.
imagining gordon and WCS switching pick n rolls wreaking havoc gives me a boner.

Basically this is a Vuc, Payton, #11 for Murray and WCS swap.

I'd be shocked if Murray were available at 8. And he is FAR from a sure thing and plays a position, the ONLY POSITION, the Magic are loaded at (Fournier/Dipo/Hezonja).

I think its interesting you want to dump those two guys though.

And there is NO CHANCE Sac trades Boogie this offseason.

Murray will not be available at #8. Gotta get to #5 at least.

I'd like to keep WCS, even if we trade Cousins

He'll be the best defender in the league some day

He's perfect for today's switching defenses... He can legitimately defend 1-5

It'll be interesting to see how Joerger's defense looks

I'd take it...though I LOVE WCS, if it's contingent on trading away Cousins, yes I'd take it.

No chance in hell Murray drop past the Nuggets at #7. Zero chance

I'm reading what the mocks say. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes #4

Jam, what are your thoughts on Payton potentially leaving? I know he hasn't developed how you expected, but does he still have time to figure it out?

It isn't necessarily that he hasn't developed how I expected, it's just the fit is off. For me, it's Payton or Oladipo and I think Oladipo is the vastly superior player, so Payton either has to move to the bench or be traded. Issue with that is we haven't had a PG worth even playing major minutes off the bench (Jennings and Watson and Napier are awful, CJ was hurt most of the year though) so Payton is the starter. He definitely has time to figure it out, but how successful can your team be with a starting guard who can't make freethrows or shoot? The reason I proposed this trade is because it gets two birds with one stone, we fix the issue at the guard position (pg who can't shoot) and the issue at the center position (center who can't defend)

Though this move is a bit too optimistic because it's hoping Murray will even be there and that he can be a PG at the NBA level. Which I'm not sure of.

That is a fair breakdown. Oladipo is an interesting tweener. Vogel may struggle a bit with him though, similar to dropoff that Monta Ellis had under him. But he is a better player, so maybe he will be fine.

I'm not a huge fan of vuc, but Wcs isn't the answer
