View Full Version : Time for LeBron to be a Power Forward (or Center)

DoctorP

LeBron has lost a step. He is still good but his shooting, footspeed and stature is now more suited for the power forward or center positions. To combat the Warriors speed he should start at center or power forward and never play small forward again.

Agree?

Is that even necessary for a center these days?

-Lebrons only offensive weapon right now is the drive n layup/drive n pass for the open 3. He cant post up, never could. Cant shoot.

when that fails (nearly everytime with iggy...)

-irving iso or love post up

WEEEAAAAKKKKKKK

Does T. Lue even know how to adjust the offense? They need Blatt.

He uses his off arm to stiff people on his drives and then jacks a 3 pointer up when he feels good. Without the refs bailing him out on his stiff arms, he's going to have a bad decline.

lebron has no sophistication to his post game, he can only bully smaller players. He's scared of iggy, because iggy wont back down from him, and has very good hands to poke the ball away when bron makes a move (he studies his opponents body mechanics and since lebron has very little variety in the post, its pretty easy to know where the ball is going to be). thats why bran only took 2 shots on him out of 20+ possessions. Iggy has him completely shook.

sure, but it could free up another scoring option on the perimeter. This is chess man, you have to see how moves effect moves.

The Cavs don't have a shot blocker or rim protector. Makes
no difference.

Actually if you move Iggy to the 4, I like Lebron inside the post at the 4 than camping out at the 3. Plus that means Draymond is at the 5 which means you can put Frye at the 5 with Shumpert or Love at the 3.

Curry vs Kyrie
Klay vs JR
Barnes vs whichever scoring option on the perimeter that you wanted Shump? Jefferson? lol
Iggy vs Lebron
Dray vs TT, Love, Frye, etc

The Warriors are too versatile for the Cavs to match. The Cavs best line up is still their starting one but a 6'8" Lebron has to dominate a 6'6" Iggy at SF at least in crunch time...hasn't been working...

forget Love. He can be on the second team.

Thompson/Frye
Bran/Love
Shumpert/JR
JR/Kyrie
Kyrie/Della

Run em to the ground.

So many stupid posts in here...

Did I not just make 3-4 threads about how LeBron's dominating off-ball? Did I not just make a thread about how LeBron has the best rim protection % on the Cavs in the playoffs? Did I not just make a thread about how LeBron is by far and away the Cavs best perimeter defender and the numbers overwhelmingly suggest this? Did I not just post a thread showing LeBron is dominating from the post in the playoffs so far? Did I not just show he's currently the best cutter in the playoffs? He's the 100th pecentile, 1.60 PPP on cuts

LMAO IDIOTS!

In the Playoffs

LeBron in the post: 15/24 FG
1.09 PPP

LeBron cutting: 23/29 FG
1.55 PPP

LeBron as the roll man: 14/23 FG
1.41 PPP

He's even dominating putbacks
11/17 FG

For comparison Tristan is 8/20

Lebron's decline will be a joy to watch. Athletic freak who never developed offensive skills properly. Father time comes knocking and collects.

This is not the 80s.

Best Center today is 2" taller than Lebron, about same weight... who plays like a SF...

Bran needs to redefine his game bigtime if he has to play PF.

Not gonna happen

look at the teams he played against :facepalm

if he's so effective in the post, why did he give away the ball twice while being guarded by Curry in the post?

His jumper was inconsistent last year ... It is basically gone now. Combined with his tenativeness when Iggy guards him. Not a good look. I wouldn't say he needs to be a PF. But playing that role if he had actual low post scoring skill would be optimal for Cleveland's offense. And they could slow down and control the pace againat GSW. But he doesn't have the offensive skill set to take advantage.

He has a solid post game, he can definitely dominate them inside and get them into foul trouble. I really wish this was 2012 bron. It's hurting my eyes to see this shit, I just want to see him stay inside at all times and control the glass and pace. GS is praying that he doesn't realize this because they wouldn't have an answer.

Solid isn't dominant. He needs to score 30 ish or more efficiently to win this series.

If he is trying to face up Iggy and do it ... He can't. If he had a savy post game, he could isolate and do this no problem without stagnating an offense.

The best he was the other night was when he attacked out of the triple threat right away before the defense can set or rotate. Doesn't do this near enough.

Love has a solid low post/mid post game.

Bosh had a solid mid post game.

Lebrons post isolations are average AT BEST. Dude travels on every possession and does a desperation kick out when pressured.

Lol. You think having a SF that protects his FG% is bad?

Imagine someone like Dirk, Duncan or KG protecting their FG%.

How detrimental would that be?

Until Lebron cuts loose and starts to not give a fvck about his stats, only then will his teams thrive.

For him to be effective a few post moves would help. Plus I think he'd have a hard time defending players bigger than him.
