That is one example out of many of Kobe getting carried or his legacy getting saved by his teammates.
Gasol dominated this game on both ends of the floor. The real MVP

The Lakers won the championship that year and the Cavs didn't. That's all that matters.

That game was over before Kobe had time to warm up
Nice gesture and payback from his teammates after they sucked so bad in Houston.
By the way Pau had 5 points (outscoring Kobe by 3 points) when the Lakers lead 37-19 in the second qtr.
lol at "getting saved".

it was a blowout win, he didn't need to score as Lakers' defense shut down the Rockets that game, Houston had 70 points total, now you diss Kobe for not chucking the ball :kobe:
Kobe had 14/7/5 3 stls 2 blocks and only played 33 minutes to Pau's 40, Pau also had 5 times as many turnovers
Kobe also had a 115 ORTG 70 DRTG to Pau's 98 and 74
Despite his high-rebounding Game 7, Pau averaged 19/12 for the series while Kobe still averaged 27/5/4 despite his low-scoring Game 7.
Also notable is that Yao Ming got injured in the middle of the series and didn't play in the last 5 games. After Ming went down, Pau was playing against Luis Scola and Chuck Hayes, who barely got minutes before Yao's injury.
Last game Yao was healthy? Pau had 13 pts 6 rebs on 3/11 shooting while Ming had 19/11 on 6/14 shooting, Kobe OTOH had 33 points and he was guarded by prime Ron Artest the whole series while Pau's main defender didn't play in the last 5.
And we don't even have to mention the Conference Finals that came after
Kobe averaged 34/6/6 on 48/34/93 shooting, 35 pts 10 assist 60%FG in the closeout game on the road
Kobe in the Playoffs: 30/6/6
Pau in the Playoffs: 18/11
not even close.

Kobe doing what Kobe does in game 7's what else is new.
When the stakes are high, he's the 2nd biggest chokers in nba history behind Ilt.
Mr 6/24 does it again! :lol

2000 WCF Game 7
25 pts 11 reb 7 ast 4 blk 2 TO 9/19 shooting
2002 WCF Game 6
31 pts 11 reb 5 ast 1 TO 10/20 shooting
2002 WCF Game 7
30 pts 10 reb 7 ast 0 TO 10/26 shooting
that amounts to 29/10/6 with 1 turnover per game on 45% shooting
in 3 elimination games of a three-peat run from age 21-23
but I'll take your word for it, going 4-12 and having the best ORTG/DRTG in a blowout win and going 6/24 with an efficient 4th quarter and closing the game to win b2b titles outweighs that. I'm sure Kobe can't live with himself for winning 5 titles in 7 Finals. Lebron must be ecstatic to come up short in another Playoff run.
