This. Dude grew up in Jim Crow Kentucky. When he became HW champion at age 22, Black people in the United States couldn't vote and the Civil Rights Act hadn't been enacted yet. He legally couldn't drink from Whites only water fountains or stay in certain hotels or eat in certain restaurants. Why would you expect him to have anything but animosity against the people responsible for that system?

As he grew older and society began to evolve, his views did as well.
