2 years is a ridiculous punishment. The ITF even concluded the drug in question wasn't being used as a performance enhancer. This is similar to NFL players or MMA fighters being suspended for smoking Marijuana... only the punishment for the first offense is 2 years. Had the ITF deemed the drug use was for performance enhancing, the punishment would have been 4 years.


Hopefully her appeal can reduce the punishment to 1 year, which means she would be eligible to return next February.
