I think he has a good chance of ending 3rd all time, ahead of MJ.
There's a good chance he ends up as the all time leading scorer in the playoffs and the 3rd highest assist man in history.

That would put him at:

1 all time in scoring in playoffs (Ilt 18th)
1 all time in ws/48 in playoffs
2nd or 3rd all time in assists in playoffs
3rd all time in finals points (Ilt 22nd, btw)
1st in vorp on playoffs
2nd all time in PER in playoffs

I know. Team sport though. That's a different argument.
Individually, there's a good chance he'll have the best body of work of anyone that's ever played this game, in the post season.

Hey man just curious but why do you hate Wilt and Kobe so much?

Mr Feeny

Hey man just curious but why do you hate Wilt and Kobe so much?

Their fans.
I have nothing against Wilt. Why would anyone? We weren't around in the 60's.
But the most insufferable fan on the forum is lazarus that he makes Wilt an easy target.

I'm not the only way. You see heat fans, laker fans, cavs fans any many other in this forum sticking it to wilt because of his fan's obsession with him.

I wouldn't mind a fan going nuts jizz ing himself to a player, but this clown openly lies and makes up fake numbers to prop up his idol.
He's lied about the 94 bulls a bunch of times in an attempt to take away from Jordan.
When we all correct him about the facts (who was or wasn't on the team), he shuts up immediately and boycotts the thread.

I don't think fans dislike players. We don't know the players. We just feel like picking on a player to rile up delusional fanboys, and in my opinion the two single most cringe-worthy fan bars are Wilt and Kobe's.
They don't seem to understand anything about the game, and they choose to spend every iota of energy putting down every other player in NBA history besides their idols (if they can make up random quotes and stats along the way, then great) and get pissed off when the rest of basketball fans don't rate their idols as highly as they do.

Kobe fanboys throwing tantrums because most don't consider their idol a top 10 player is exactly my point. There's no shame being top 15. And if they think he's top 10, then great. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions.
Just don't freak out and go on a tirade of profanities because most fans don't agree with your minority viewpoint.

Lebron has been in the Finals for every year of his prime while Kobe played in his early 20s and in his 30s and never had a series taking 33 shots a game like Lebron did last year.

I don't think LeBron could actually be happy climbing this list when he's headed to a 2-7 finals record and Jerry West is the one on top of this list with a 1-9 finals record.

To be honest, I'm actually surprised both Shaq (12) and Kobe (11) are as high as they are since they took points from each other and played in short series against the East.

I disagree, I was actually surprised Kobe and especially Shaq weren't in the top 10. And Kobe was hardly taking points away from Shaq, dude averaged 35 ppg in the Finals during the 3peat.

Well Shaq and Kobe "were" in the Top 10 but got bumped out :confusedshrug:

The reasons why I'm surprised with both is because Kobe was 2nd option for 4 of his 7 finals appearances, and Shaq either got swept or practically swept in his 6 finals appearances.

The point is if the Lakers FO did not step up and actually bring people like Gasol, MWP Kobe would've been wearing the 24 in a Bulls Jersey and possibly retire a Bull. I am not a great believer in ifs but in this case it applies :D

Well its not really a big difference in games played between the two, Kobe's 37 to LeBron's 36. And if you look at Kobe's games against the Pacers he had a game with 9 minutes and another with no minutes at all.

Kobe once a top 10 on this list was somewhat surprising to me because he was a second option scorer for most of his Finals games played.

And yet he still took more shots than Lebron did. And scored less.
Any way you spin, Kobe was am abysmal finals scorer.
Either he was good and lebron was amazing or if you insist that Lebron is a poor finals scorer, then that would make Kobe abysmal.

How many rings do Magic, Kareem, and Oscar have respectively

Magic 3 as lead dog
Kareem with 2 as lead dog.
Lebron with 2 as lead dog
Shaq with 3 as lead dog

The 80's Lakers won FIVE titles. Unless you think someone else was the lead dog on the '71 Bucks.

And please, don't suggest Worthy, who fraudulently won a FMVP in '88.

Who would you consider the best player on each of those Laker title teams? I'd break it down as follows

'80 is clearly Kareem
'82 is very close, slight edge to Magic
'85 is very close, slight edge to Magic
'87 is clearly Magic
'88 is undoubtedly Magic

Well, most observers would give '80 to Kareem. Me? Given what we saw in game six of the Finals, and given the HUGE jump from an under-performing team in the late 70's, to an instant 60 win champion in his first season...I could go either way.

From '82 on, all Magic. Some might argue '85, but while KAJ won a deserved FMVP, Magic was their playoff MVP.

At least a 4-1 margin for Magic.

When will Kobe become 12th all time in points, just like his alltime ranking?

Not sure why you insist I'm spinning some sort of Kobe agenda but okay.

However, your LeBron nut_huggin/Kobe hate logic is stupid and brings your boy down too. Truth is that both their finals numbers are very similar. Kobe's only shot the ball 19 more times and lebron only has 8 more points. Now add that both these sukkas shooting below 45% in the finals anyways, so if you say Kobe was an abysmal finals scorer, then LeBron must be one also. :hammerhead:

Don't count Glass out just yet. He has four games to match Kobe's best Finals of 32.2 ppg. All he has to do is average 44 ppg in his last four games (if he is even lucky enough to get four more games.)

I think Curry will comfortable surpass kobricks career finals shooting percentage of 41%:lol
Don't know if he'll hit Lebron's superior 46% mark though tbf.

You can call them what you want.
Lebron who's an all around player is a better finals scorer than Kobe. That's the bottom line :lebronamazed:
