How come they always blow the games open with him on the bench, then? :lol

I'm not debating the fact his spacing immensely helps, but people have now lately used it to defend his pedestrian play, when his team actually did the job without him on the floor.

On/off = stupid stat that has been ripped apart many times.

Same stat that has prime Shaq having a negative on/off during a championship run.

That stat might have to do with the fact that the Warriors have a better second unit than most teams. To me it speaks to their depth more than Curry's impact (or lack thereof).

+/- or even RPM is sort of a silly stat for a lot of reasons. It doesn't account for things like who you're playing against (the other team's starters or reserves) and it counts baskets made/missed in the last 2 minutes of garbage time of a 30-point blowout in a Game 1 the same as it does baskets made/missed in the last 2 minutes of a 1-point game in a Game 7.

There's no room for nuance in these statistics. RPM tries to make up for that gray area instead of it being so black and white, but I think it frankly sucks as a barometer of a player too.

According to +/-, the Lakers were -0.3 with Shaq on the floor in the '01 playoffs.

Again, shows how useless the stat is. We can see Curry is playing poorly. I don't need +/- to tell me that. FWIW, Shaq was a +22.9 in the 2002 playoffs. lol

Why would I be "mad"? Just pointing out that you've become an even more terrible poster than you used to be, and as I said, no better than Pauk and Dubeta.

The Warriors' second unit is actually better than most teams' first units. Honestly, as a Cavs fan, I get more nervous when I see Shaun Livingston, Andre Iguadola, Leandro Barbosa, Festus Ezili and/or Mo Speights check in than I do with their starters in the game. It's amazing what they've built.

The worst part is two of their primary pieces (Speights, Livingston) were Cavaliers in the last few years. I never understood why we let Livingston go to Brooklyn. People think it was there that he started to turn his game back around, but it was actually in Cleveland the season before. He's perfect for today's positionless basketball style.

God damn it.

Creating talk about the Warriors' second unit (their first unit is -25 so far this series!)... how could I! ...

Been telling these delusional clowns for a while now.

Steph Curry is a FRAUD. An overrated, one dimensional little boy.

So far the excuses for Curry:
- Curry is coasting ( It's the finals for god sake :oldlol: )
- Curry is injured ( That injury that only appears after he has bad games)
- Curry is creating spacing (the first unit of warriors hasn't been good)

I also wonder why the kobe stans don't say Klay creates spacing. They are both defended the same way.

The Lakers were actually +13.8 with Shaq on the floor.

The -0.3 number you're looking at is on/off. The Lakers were slightly better with Shaq on the bench.

BUT, the Lakers only played 98 total minutes (in 16 games) with Shaq on the bench, most of it being garbage time.

Right. I meant on/off. I hate the stat, whether it's used over a large sample or not. I've never really found it to match the reality that I see when I watch the games, and I feel at this stage I have a pretty good understanding for when a guy is a positive or negative to his respective team.

right, I was about to mention that... they weren't -0.3 with him on the court, lol.

They actually had an even more positive margin with him off it, but the minutes is a good mention on your part, and like you said, most of it came in garbage time of already blowout wins.

Sample size as usual does the deed. Curry has missed nearly 2 series'.

So this stats says Lakers were a negative with Shaq on the court during their most dominant playoff run ever and you continue to use this stat
