They'll definitely be a top 5 greatest team of all time. General consensus would be something like this:
1927 Yankees
2016 Warriors
1972 Miami Dolphins
1984 SF 49ers
1977 Montreal Canadiens

They won 73 games and they are only top 5? lol. This team will always be in the convo for GOAT regardless of what some people think simply because they won 73 games, they also won those games playing the most exciting basketball I've ever seen.
This team will be in the convo for at least top 3 ever, along with the '86 Celtics & '96 Bulls.
I believe the Warriors would beat the showtime Lakers, both all-time great offenses, but the Warriors have a better defense. And I just can't see Magic guarding either Curry or Klay.

well I think they would be easily top 5 in that showtime range. Ik plenty of people here however would have teams like celtics, bulls, showtime, 83 sixers and some other old teams over them. Anything outside top 10 imo is ridiculous however since last year's team had a good argument for top 10.

we only have numbers as a fact... sadly we cant keep saying bulls would beat this team.. cause they are not going to play since mj retired 20 years ago lmao..all of this are theory and can never be justified.. so Warriors are the GOAT team

The crazy thing is the 2016 Warriors actually have a better offense than the showtime Lakers relative to their era, I bet most people on here didn't know this. You also add their versatile defense in the mix and I just don't see the showtime Lakers beating the 2016 Warriors.

I did haha. Just worried about the matchups and the raw talent showtime have(could argue they slacked off during regular season while warriors went full out).

That's the only way I see the Showtime Lakers winning honestly, they do have more talent than the Warriors, but do they have a better team? I'm not so sure. The Lakers as a team were more flawed, Magic & Kareem's inability to play defense, they were somewhat soft in the frontline and they were only an above average defensive team. The Warriors to me seem more balanced, they have an amazing efficient offense that moves the ball, on defense they have little holes, a rim protector in Bogut and a bunch of good defenders on the perimeter.

Hard to put a team that got blown out by 20+ points for THREE times in the playoffs in the top 5.
oh the horror

And who guards Magic, Worthy, Kareem? Are we talking Showtime in this era with no hand checking? Are you joking?
This team is an all time great in their era as are others in their respective eras but let's not get insane. We were all ready to throw them away when they almost lost to a dysfunctional OKC team.

And do you expect Magic to guard Curry & Thompson? lol. Curry would massacre Magic out there. The Warriors also have a bunch of defenders to throw at Worthy in Green, Iggy, & Barnes. And Bogut is a solid defensive center. Kareem & Worthy probably still get theirs, but I would be much more worried about the Magic on Curry matchup.:oldlol:

They beat 2 all-stars in the first round with Curry only playing two games
Then they beat an all-star Lillard and most improved CJ in round two with Curry playing two games
Then they come back from 3-1 down against two superstars in Durant and Westbrook.
And now they're embarrassing one superstar and two all-stars on the biggest stage.
You count up how many all-stars that with the context of Curry not being able to help in some of those games and a historic comeback and this team is just too good to be out of top 2

today we saw them play voltron Cleveland at home with hand check rules ON.
They took a dump on all the 3pt records. Best team ever imo

Relative to their era, they are a top 5 team of all-time. If we're just talking about the straight-up best team, they might be #1 because sports have evolved so much.
And this is why I always laugh at shit like "Would the Warriors be able to compete in the 80s/90s with handcheck rules? Could they beat the 86 Celtics with those rules?"Of course they'd win. An 80s team would have no chance to keep up with them physically.
Or the 72 Dolphins, for example. They would lose by 40+ pts to any current NFL team and most Div1 college teams too.

They might be the GOAT team. Taking into account depth, defense, offense, and probably the best thing about them versatility. Livingston, Curry, Iggy, Green can all run an offense. They have defenders they can toss at anybody. Klay, Barnes, Iggy, Green, Bogut. Greatest shooting team of All-Time. An explosive 1st option in Curry.
Curry got injured. Came back too soon. Had two brutal games against OKC that put GS down 3-1. Played like Curry the final 3 games and GS came back and won. OKC had issues but they were a 55 win team, who was probably better than that. If anything I think it helps there case in GOAT team talks. What would have happened to the Bulls with a banged up MJ who missed games? GS for the first time all season had there backs up against the wall facing elimination and came back.
Unless they fall apart vs the Cavs they have as good of case as any for the GOAT team. People just can't let go of the past. Teams today are analyzed more than ever. 24/7 media circus. Advanced analytics, youtube, twitter etc. Game is far less entertaining IMO by alot even compared to 10 years ago, but teams have become smarter, more versatile, and there's more talent and players are less flawed overall. Going forward the emphasis on shooting is going to make things even crazier, because it just makes it impossible to defend.

They've looked beatable in the playoffs. More bearable than teams like the 01 Lakers or 96 Bulls.
But if you take into consideration both regular season and post season then they have an argument for goat nba team.

Curry's injury had alot to do with it. Seriously, how many teams would have survived their best playing having an MCL injury in the playoffs?

What?
You realize that Jordan and Pippen were better athletes than anyone on the Warriors currently and it's not remotely close...right?
You think the bad boy Pistons just wouldn't be able to keep up physically? Like...what the **** are you on?
As for the 86 Celtics...I don't know who wins, but it would absolutely not be a blowout.
I'd favor the 86 Celtics actually. Mchale might average 40 against single coverage...no joke.

but.. I mean if you are watching the games right now reffing is super loose and they are being played super physical with wrestling all over the court .. you guys won't acknowledge what is happening in front of everyone's eyes.
And OKC was the opposite of dysfunctional in their playoff run. They were a well oiled machine during that stretch, this is another ignorant comment

I think he just means the fact that they had trouble with weaker teams like Portland because Curry was out for 3 of those games.

Single season GOAT, they're obviously Top 3, if not Top 2.
In terms of actual dynasty? Hard to say. They lose a lot next year, so let's say they DON'T win next year, but possibly DO win another title in the next 3 years. While a short window, they'd still be Top 5 GOAT dynasty if only due to their total dominance for 2 years.
Correct me if I'm wrong but their past 2 seasons have been more statistically (reg season + posteason wins, shooting stats, D stats, pt differential, etc) dominating than any 2-year span of the 60s Celts, 80s Big 3 (LAL/Det/Bos), 90s Bulls, 00s Lakers, or 10s Heat, right?

And were down 3-1 to a team they swept in the regular season and finished 18 games ahead of, relying on an all time choke job to survive.
No, I wouldn't put them in the Top 5 teams of all time. Every Bulls championship team, the Showtime Lakers, Bird's Celtics and Bad Boys Pistons would feast on this GS team. Not to mention Dream's Rockets, Shaq and Kobe's Lakers and 2000s Spurs.

Even as a Warriors fan I would have a problem ranking them over the late 80's Lakers, late 80's Celtics, and mid 90's Bulls. If we manage to close the deal this year, and get back-to-back titles, I think they definitely deserve a spot in the top 5 though.

2nd best team in NBA history.
72-10 Bulls were still better. 1 extra regular season win doesn't erase the fact that the 96 Bulls had a better playoff record. 96 Bulls would never have gone down 3-1 and almost eliminated.
