Once LeBron has fallen off his pedestal and eased out of the spotlight I feel like people will truly appreciate the greatness. It was a joke compared to Kobe's. Wouldn't consider it a farewell tour. He wasn't even voted into the all star game....no one gave a shit about him.

The fact that Kobe was a larger than life figure with some amazing individual performances (81 points) and the fact that he represented the last of the old school alpha dogs (Dirk and Duncan wont have tours like his), brought out more love than Lebron will have.

As much as some people hate him, Kobe dedicated his entire life to basketball and worked harder than pretty much anyone in the NBA at it. People respect that, despite his flaws in shot selection, etc.

For Lebron, he was great for Lebron fans and Cavs and Heat, but Im not sure his approach to the game is respected in the same way across the league.
