Replace Current Bron with 09 Bron. Do the warriors still win?
I say Cavs take this 4-1 given the way Curry and Klay have been playing.
Watching Lebron drive to the rim is just sad in this series. His athleticism declined so much it's not even funny:facepalm

God damn it, 09/10 LeBron wasn't even fair.... he'd destroy this rim protection.
40 ppg, not even joking. Cavs in 5-6.

Wait, are we talking about the 09-10 LeBron that an old Celtics team LITERALLY made quit in the playoffs?

Are you forgetting LeBron's in the finals?
If his jumper aint falling more or less the same success. Maybe a few more points near the rim. :confusedshrug:

what? :oldlol: He's having a down year in the finals, the first since 2011, and you want me to believe its the norm?
He destroyed the #1 defense Magic in '09 with peak defense Howard.... he'd wreck this team an even bigger hole.

He's the same player now as he was back then...a little faster i suppose but he's still gonna get stripped, blocked, brick open jumpers, go ghost for stretches so:confusedshrug: . Warriors in 5.

If he played up to his ability they'd win. But considering this would be before he'd suffered the 2011 meltdown (and the one in 2010), that's what i'd expect to happen.
Dubs in 6.

Are people serious in this thread? '09 Bron dropped 35/9/7 on 51% in the Playoffs and 39/8/8 on 48% vs the Magic. I'm not sure what his 4th quarter numbers were but I don't see how you can say he choked that postseason.

What did he do the following year against Boston? Because 09 and 10 Lebron are basically the same player. So what would you extrapolate from the Boston series in terms of what 09 Lebron would do against the Warriors?

Doesn't matter if you have peak Lebron, Warriors are still the better team.

Huh? You must have slept through 2015. What were those shooting percentages?
39% from the field
30% from 3 (13 for 42)
68% from the line.

I've always gotten on him for his series vs Boston in '10 but '09 Bron in the postseason didn't wilt like '10 Bron did.
'09 Bron's jumper was falling in the postseason while we know the case this series. Last night for example I doubt '09 Bron is that passive in such a pivotal game. He was more aggressive in terms of driving, putting pressure on the defense, and getting to the free throw line a lot more. No one on GS would be able to stop him, his jumper would be falling which would open up the defense more and make him more of a threat, he would be way more aggressive and put much more pressure on the defense. Idk if Cleveland would win this series with him but they stand a much better chance and this series would have been more competitive.

No he didn't, you're correct, the Magic overall were just a bad matchup for the Cavs that year, not due to Lebron underperforming. The thing with Lebron, even on the occasions when his jumpshot was on he won't literally kill you with it, not over the course of a series. His jumpshot usually at its best complimented his slashing game. He never had that ability to consistently dominate a game/series from the mid-range even at its best, and the series where he under-performed( 2010 Celtics, 2011 Mavs, 2013 Spurs games 1-4, 2016 Warriors), those teams had the defensive personnel and/or philosophy to make him a jumpshooter. When he's placed in that position is when I note he hesitates shooting, as if he's shooting without the confidence that he'll actually make the shot.

Great post :applause:
I agree, I can't recall a series where he dominated strictly or mostly on his jumpshooting. Even during his best jumpshooting runs I don't remember him dominating any of those series on his jumpshooting. When dared to shoot like you said the confidence isn't there especially a year like '13 when he was great in the post and his jumper was good in the Playoffs he still couldn't beat the Spurs in the 1st 5 games with his jumper even though they were daring him to shoot. Hell even last year vs the Warriors he shot 28% outside of 5ft for that series and he just couldn't hit his jumpers.
