Car broke down a couple weeks ago. It never really was that reliable but it sucks to be without a vehicle. Bad thing is that I need one in the next few months for college because I need to be able to drive home. Need something reliable, what do you recommend, summer friends?

yeah i live on campus
it actually isn't really required that i have a car, the issue is i have braces and need to go home at least once a month. otherwise i wouldn't need a car at all because there are buses on campus 24/7. getting a bus home isn't something i've considered though, that's a good idea.

how far away is home? a few hundred miles or a few thousand? if money is an issue then the bus is your best bet. you could also catch rides home with friends.

My guess is that the turbo is f*cked up or leaking.

You'd look like a complete ***, but it would be cheap'ish to get a used vespa to Put-put around on. Or get an enduro bike, which is a motorcycle that is both street legal and offroad. One of those might even be cheaper than a vespa.

get a ruckus. cheaper than a vespa, fun to ride, cheap to maintain, reliable and doesn't look like a hipster

Fix it yourself, a leaking or blown turbo isn't that bad.
