You can't make a legit top 10 list without Magic or Bird's name, but you can without Lebron's name, as shown above.. That's how you know Magic/Larry > Lebron.

Lebron's accolades are tainted by teaming up - how many great players could go 2/4 by teaming up with 2 other guys with top 5 PER's?



How would Karl Malone do if he teamed up with Grant Hill and Ewing?

How would Isiah do if he teamed up with McHale and Bird?

How would Hakeem do with Drexler and Kemp?


Guys on Magic/Bird's level would do much better than 2/4 or 2/7, whereas guys on Karl Malone's level would go 2/7 like Lebron.. Lebron isn't top 10 at all - he isn't interchangeable with guys who did much better like Kobe or Hakeem.

peak and prime lebron is comparable to hakeem definitely. Kobe's case is longevity, accolades, and raw scoring.

oh i see, I definitely still lean Hakeem then. He has 3 years better than Kobe's best year. He's a better playoff performer than Kobe even if he only has 2 rings. His prime is just as long and I value peak play anyways.

I think it shows that Kobe/Hakeem/Lebron are not on Magic or Bird's level because you can't make a top 10 list without Magic or Bird, but you can without Kobe, Lebron or Hakeem.

That being said, I think there's gaps between Kobe/Hakeem and Lebron - I'd take the former over the latter in a heartbeat if I wanted to pick who would do better after teaming up with a Big 3.. We know Lebron goes 2/6, while Kobe and Hakeem did better.
