View Full Version : As a Kobe hater, I think prime Kobe + Love would of been a good combo

Kobe tends to play really well with skilled bigman, and Love fits that perfect.
I think prime Kobe would of been a much better fit for the current Cavs team than a prime Lebron (which he is no longer)

Not to mention he would finally be playing with another guard who could actually create for himself, and is a threat to drop 30+ on a nightly basis.

Both are great at missing playoffs without HOF 2nd and 3rd options :lol

Love would not benefit from the Kobe-assist.

With the attention prime Kobe draws from the defense, Love would put up better numbers than Gasol as he can shoot the basketball from anywhere on the floor
with current Lebron you know that he'd rather make the "right" basketball play aka pass the ball, even if it's Steph Curry that's defending him, so the opposing teams can just back off Lebron to prevent any easy layups and they'll pass the ball around until the shot clock runs out and Irving/JR shoots a contested jumper
with Kobe you don't know when he decides to pass or when he goes off for 10-20 straight points, that opens the floor up for Love.

Yeah, no shit.
Kobe wouldn't have relegated him to a spot-up 3PT shooter. :oldlol:

Except Love can't defend.:facepalm
Gasol could at least do that at a average/aabove average at times.

Love would play at his comfortable position.
Dont need to stand outside the arc and wait for 3s

And more importantly, Kobe is the lightning rod for media scrutiny. If the Lakers lose, Kobe gets the blame. Love would be under a lot less pressure and feel more comfortable than he is now. Heck, people are trying to pump Gasol as a GOAT candidate for supposedly "carrying" Kobe in the 2010 Finals. Players get bumped UP playing with Kobe. Players get torn down playing with Lebron.
