If they can pull this off (which they won't if Love plays ore than 20 minutes in Game 6 and 7), and Lebron averages 35 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in games 6 and 7, you'll have people talking about it.

If the Cavs had won last year, with no Love and Irving, and with Lebron averaging 36/13/9, Lebron would be in GOAT discussions.

but he DIDN'T win

stats don't mean shit when you LOSE

He was in the same situation last year, down 2 - 3 going into home and disappeared in the 2nd half

you look at his overall box score and you would think he had a big game, then you look at his 2nd half/4th quarter performance and laugh :oldlol:

no one is better at stuffing their stat sheet in the first 3 quarters than Lebron but no one is also better at losing close games in the Finals than Lebron James.

Im talking about the recognition that the Suns were not remotely as talented defensively as this 11 deep, 73-win juggernaut. Not even close. Lebron is facing MUCH tougher defense and still beasting.

He is raising the standard of what we expect from a superstar. This is the kind of thing only Top 10, and in particular Top 3 players can do. It's astonishing.

Yes, that talented defensive team that Lebron's only shown up against when it's missing its best defensive player, who was suspended due to Lebron's instigation.

We'll get another disappearing act with him getting blocked by everyone at the rim, and then shrinking from the ball again next game.

Hey guys. This is Akrazotile.

I think I used to post here. I was in a pretty serious wreck last night and my memory of the past few months is basically blank. Crazy experience.

Anyway, I vaguely remember a lot of beef between the Lebron and Kobe family. I kind of remember the start of the 15-16 season, when Kobe was playing like dogshit and Lebron was gearing up to lead his hometown Cavs back to the finals to avenge last year's loss.

There was a lot of back-and-forth back then about which player was pushing for the greater legacy.

How do things stand currently? How did last season end and how did it affect their respective all-time rankings?

ScalsFan21
08-17-2016, 06:27 PM
Well Ak, last year ended with LeBron James capturing the first championship for Cleveland in a half-century, and he did so in historical fashion.

That being said, how bad exactly IS this amnesia? If you've been following the game you'd know that LeBron leapfrogged Kobe permanently 3+ years ago. :confusedshrug:

First off, hope you're doing well buddy.

Now, you won't believe this. The Warriors* coming off their asterisk of a 'ring' started off the year 24-0. Then went on to win 73 game in the season to break the Bulls historic record.

Warriors and Cavs end up with the #1 seeds and both meet up in the finals. I'd call this a rematch but the Cavs are actually healthy this time.. so it's pretty much a first time match up.

Now for the unbelievable part. Warriors go up 3-1, and EVERBODY said the series is over in game 5. People called LeBron 'done' and that the Cavs have 0. ZERO. ZILCH. NADA. NONIE. of a chance to win the series. And RIGHTFULLY SO! Because teams down 3-1 in the finals are ZERO and THIRTY TWO!!

Queue game 5. LeBron drops 41 points. SixTEEN rebounds. 7 assists! Oh ya, 3 blocks and 3 steals as well as they win a stunning game on the road. Kyrie comes clutch with 41 all over Chokrys face.

Game 6. LeBron returns home and delivers the GREATEST finals game I've ever seen. 41 points. 8 boards. 11 assits. 3 blocks. 4 steals. A blowout victory. Wire. To. Wire.

Game 7. All the marbles. LeBron drops 27/11/11 including the championship saving/sealing block on Iggy with 1:50 left in the 4th qtr of a tied game on the ROAD. Best. Block. Ever! Kyrie then hits a clutch 3 (once again over Chokry) to take the lead. LeBron then breaks his wrist after a major foul and sinks the 2nd free throw to seal a championship to cleveland.

He wins the FMVP ofc and he tells the world.. "CLEVELANDDDD. THIS IS FOR YOU!"
