1) Prophets are simply guides and leaders among humans. All human tribes have a role like this irregardless. Prophets possess spiritual insight, outstanding moral character, clear vision among other things. The Quran mentions that people would question why human beings would be chosen rather than angels (or other beings) to guide their fellow man and reiterates why. See Said Nursi writing on Prophet and the Night Journey to answer these doubts.

2) Rather than perceive it as how we live our lives, it is more resourceful to think of life as a series of trials designed to get one nearer to The Creator. It is also as you said, a simulation, of harder and harder tests to get you stronger and wiser and more morally upright (separating the wheat from the chaff of creation so to speak) thus why saints and good folks have more difficult tasks ahead while disbelievers often coast through life. The real events are happening in the hidden inner dimension I.e. The spiritual world look up platos cave on YouTube.

There is an optimal way of leading it. There is a fastest and moderate and sound route to life referred to the Prophets as the Straight path. Signs are constantly guiding people to their next step on their journey. Faith aids in making these signs clear.

3) You're already an incredibly compassionate human being. Another part of the journey is acquiring knowledge of God. There are more than 99 beautiful names of God to internalize in one's heart. See 99 Names of Allah to get an idea of what is manifest from the heavens above.

we're actually all talking to each other right now to learn from our hood traits and get to the next level. I actually just woke up a few hours ago and recited Guide me on the straight path in Arabic and here I am writing to you Mr Nanners. 4) The False Prophets leading people astray is in fact true.
