View Full Version : Rings don't matter. Winning doesn't matter. You do not play to win.

Box scores are all that matters.
Winning is irrelevant. The celebrations after winning championships don't matter. Parades for winning a championship are just consolation prizes for not winning the box score championship.
Playing competitive sports to win is stupid. You should only play to look cool and have 10 year old kids think you're da bomb diggity.
You play to lose, but look cool. As long as you have a cool box score and 10 year old kids thinking you're da bestest eva eva eva, you have reached the pinnacle of professional competitive sport.

Spot on
I seriously feel like we are back in the 09-11 era on ish where "winning doesn't matter" and the only thing that matters is how good your FG% and box score is at the end of the game.

Winning doesn't matter in the least! All that matters is how many times you can make it to the finals in a historically weak eastern conference on the most stacked team!

Bron era kids are so fvcking stupid that believe he is better than Kobe, MJ, or Duncan...let alone many other greats.
"But he only lost 3 times in a row in the finals". "That has to count for something, right?"
Like shooting fish in a barrel. If they can't grasp such simple concepts, I don't even want to think about how sad and pathetic their real lives are. :lol
If it's not some loser on 20 alts that will never get laid it's some clueless pinoy in a 3rd world country that jacks off to lebron receding hairline images regurgitating the same garbage.
I live in both of their minds rent free so it's all good.
They can run from ISH after 2/7 but they can never run from that truth.

You're right...Russell isn't a top 10 player of all time because he didn't have an elite offensive game.
Literally no one considers him an all time great.
His box scores offensively just didn't cut it.

Your hero has no business in winning. He has missed the playoff several times in his absolute peak. If he is really an all time great, he should be able to at least get his team into the playoffs no matter whom he plays with.

OP thinks Robert Horry is better than Karl Malone and Charles Barkley combined. B.J. Armstrong is also better than Mitch Richmond, John Stockton, Kevin Johnson, Mark Price, Latrell Sprewell, Steve Smith, Dan Majerle, Terrell Brandon, Jason Kidd and Tim Hardaway combined according to OP.

You're right.
Horry should be in the discussion because he's always been a first or second option. Armstrong has ALWAYS been a superstar and deserves mention. He's never been a role player on every single one of his championships.
Your logic is infallible. You should write for ESPN.
Winning does not matter. It never has and never will.

Not even top 50 players in my opinion. I'll take players like Ginobli or Pau Gasol of those losers any day of the week

here's the problem impact stats say Lebron is one of the best in the league too. Stats that pretty much measure how much better you make your team. KG didn't need a ring in 04 for example to prove to me he was the most impactful player in the league. You play to win but there's only so much you can do when it's 5v5. Ofc, doubt a lot of people here have even heard of stats like rapm.

except that the actual point of the game is to win it ALL. Preparing your team to win it ALL. Even if it means sacrificing your numbers and losing games during the regular season. Stop mocking the game

rapm isn't a boxscore number. It's more of a measure of how much better does your team play when you're on the court. Again, shouldn't the coach have a bigger role in preparing the team. I'm not going criticize Lue but it's way too early to call him a great coach.

Exactly! That's why Barkley and Malone aren't in my top 50. That's also why I consider Lebron and Kobe equal since they both have 2 Finals MVP awards.

how is that equal. Kobe's 2 FMVPs were without any superstars on his team. Lebron's were with superstars and stars
