There are about 20-25 alligator attacks per year in the U.S. I cant believe Obama is refusing to acknowledge the issue of alligator attacks. i think its time to put a temporary ban on alligators until we find out what the hell is going on!

Can't ban animals dummy. You probably think Muslims are animals.:facepalm

Why do you constantly do this to yourself?

Anyways, I do think we should kill more alligators. Someone had mentioned they are protected and I don't see why the should be protected as they offer nothing to the ecosystem.

I think we should exterminate them in reasonable numbers so they don't go extinct.

People are allowed to freely hunt and kill wild hogs and I think the same should be done to alligators.

wtf??? you cant ban an animal you numbskull.

what we should be doing though is having all alligators that commit an act of violence, be added to a registry and be forced to let all their neighbors know about being on said registry.

And don't let these said alligators buy guns legally as long as they are in the registry.

Absolutely not.

Makes far more sense to ban all lakes from possessing alligators. And we need tougher penalties for lakes that violate these laws. Lakes should go to jail for their first offense.

Technically, based on the rate these alligators commit these offenses (1 in 5,981)...

We also need to ban:

Planes: 1 in 5,862
Food: 1 in 4,404
Furniture: 1 in 4,238
Bicycles: 1 in 4,147
ATVs: 1 in 3,579
Surgical Procedures: 1 in 1,523
Smoke and/or Fire: 1 in 1,235
Water: 1 in 1,073
Motorcycles: 1 in 802
Walking: 1 in 623
Cars: 1 in 272
Falling: 1 in 184
Suicide: 1 in 115

And any land vehicle: 1 in 85

That should keep us safe...

No. What we should do is allow alligators to be kept, trained and stockpiled for personal defense and for recreational training use so that people can go to alligator ranges and have alligator competitions and alligator tradeshows and what not cause save for firearms and blades, what greater personal defense protection can you expect to get but that from an alligator? Don't tread on muh freedum. Alligators wouldn't be for everyone though. According to OP's statistic and according to this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fatal_alligator_attacks_in_the_United_Stat es

; Alligators though dangerous, are but a fraction as deadly as knives and heck - the last shooting incident that hit major news alone killed virtually double the people that Alligators in their combined historical efforts have ever been. Alligators could be in their own valuable niche for defense/deterrence though. Those who cannot own guns for w/e reason should be allowed to own and personally carry an alligator instead.

OP's attempt to equate the infrequency of alligator attacks with radical Islam are foolish, misguided and inappropriate.

Alligators do not murder 50 people at once and injure 50 more in a single attack.

Alligators are not capable of hijacking planes and flying them in to skyscrapers and murdering 2,000+ people at a time.

Your attempt at satire is inappropriate and disturbing in its naivety.

We use guns too... You may not, but many others (who are alive today) do.

Straight from a study carried out by the CDC and ordered by Obama

Defensive use of guns by crime victims is a common occurrence, although the exact number remains disputed (Cook and Ludwig, 1996; Kleck, 2001a). Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals, with estimates of annual uses ranging from about 500,000 to more than 3 million (Kleck, 2001a), in the context of about 300,000 violent crimes involving firearms in 2008 (BJS, 2010). On the other hand, some scholars point to a radically lower estimate of only 108,000 annual defensive uses based on the National Crime Victimization Survey (Cook et al., 1997). The variation in these numbers remains a controversy in the field. The estimate of 3 million defensive uses per year is based on an extrapolation from a small number of responses taken from more than 19 national surveys. The former estimate of 108,000 is difficult to interpret because respondents were not asked specifically about defensive gun use.

We don't use military style rifles though...like YOU pointed out to me as a reason as to why we don't need to ban them. The only people that actually use those things are mass killers.

I want my girlfriend to use my rifle for self defense at home. I would rather her use my rifle (with the stock and fore grip and smaller bullets) than either of my Glock 23's.

One thing I do agree with (which nobody ever bothered to ask so I never bothered to mention) is that I don't think you should not be allowed to carry a rifle with the magazine inserted anywhere in public.

Like many state laws, the mag must be kept in a separate, locked container from the weapon. I think that's fair.

Rifle in one box. Mags and ammo in the other. Both locked until you get to your destination.

I also think open carry is just stupid.

Lol, alligators are to large to carry around in public :facepalm

They are only good for home defense but you can't really carry one for personal defense. For that reason alone, I prefer a King Cobra. Easy to conceal and much more lethal.
