Parts of Cali, for sure, but we have some gnarly slums to. Places you wouldn't go at night. Even in the daytime you get the creeps. Skid Row, Highland Park, Cypress Park, Glassell Park, Eagle Rock, Hawthorne, Deep Glendale, West L.A , Gardena, South L.A and the likes.. all places you never need to go more than once if ever.

Depends where the hotel was. Most places have the "nicer areas", but from what I could tell, the parts of Inglewood I saw were super sketchy at best. BUT that was many years ago. Depending on when your trip was, it wouldn't be wise to have wore red or blue there in the 90's. I don't think that's too much of an issue currently though. No disrespect to anyone on this forum who happens to live in Inglewood or any of the places I listed, they just give me the heebie-jeebies.

I might have been harsh calling Eagle Rock a slum. It isn't, some parts just aren't nice to look at. Haven't been to West LA in quite some time on the other hand. Glad it's improving. A few years ago I was asked to help setup a Christmas tree lot in Highland Park. I asked if I was going to be there at night? "Yup". "No ****ing way". Not interested in selling trees to The Avenues gang. I know the FBI did a raid a few years ago and nabbed upwards of 80+ members for federal racketeering. Are they still in the area?
