I know Kobe and Elgin Baylor had like 26 something, but can't think of anyone else that is even close?

Sidekick?
You mean hero?

I hope the loyal Cleveland fans realize how important Kyrie was.
So disrespectful that you morons call him a sidekick.

Kyrie was the actual star, but ESPN won't have that.

Kyrie was sublime in the Finals, a revelation. Made a complete mockery of the unanimous MVP and iced the championship winning shot in Game 7. Just Brilliant.

Exactly, and that's with ball hog LeBron controlling all possessions at all times pretty much. Look at the final few minutes of game 7, the dude had the ball in his hands for 20 seconds and took the shot each time. Bricked it each time.

Yet his "sidekick" took 1 shot and hit a tough 3 over Curry.

Kyrie was 2 for 6 in the fourth for 5 points

lets take a moment and savour this. Lebron was the MVP, but a case could easily have been made for Kyrie. This was identical with Kobe and Shaq yet people like to pretend that Kobe was some non factor.

I'm fairly certain that McHale outscored Bird in the '86 Finals.

Didn't want to piss off Lebron stans on their day. They deserve 1

Why do these idiots think LeBron had a bad 4th quarter. He scored 11 of the Cavs 18 points & should've easily had 13 if Iggy didn't get away with a blatant foul.

There was zero chance of Kyrie getting fmvp, and zero chance of Kobe getting one from Shaq... thats what happens when you play alongside the two most dominant players since MJ  :applause:

Taken from ESPN:

LeBron James averaged 29.7 points per game in this year's NBA Finals and Kyrie Irving scored an average of 27.1 PPG. The only other pairs of teammates who each averaged more than 27 points per game in an NBA Finals series were Elgin Baylor and Jerry West, who did it for the Lakers in both 1962 (40.6 and 31.1, respectively) and 1963 (33.8 and 29.5, respectively), and Cliff Hagan (29.4) and Bob Pettit (28.4) for the St. Louis Hawks in 1961.

Another ball dominant guard excels playing next to LeBron. Wade beasted in the playoffs in '11 and '12 too until his knees totally gave out. It's been long said, with no evidence mind you, that anybody who needs the ball to be effective is going to struggle next to LeBron. Hopefully that myth is laid to rest for good now. Kyrie is the definition of a ball-pounder and gets to do whatever he wants in Cleveland's offense.

Taking opposition's defense into account, Cleveland also finished with the 2nd best ORTG by an NBA finalist ever. '01 Lakers #1. But but but you can't have a great offense with LeBronball!!. Except we do every damn season.

Kyrie took 7 shots in the 4th and made 2 of them. Bron was 3-8 with 11 points.

Both were excellent. Stop it.

Anyway:

McHale- 25.8 in 86
Kobe- 26.8 in 2002

Someone name others.

In the final 5 minutes...when teams usually rely on their superstar to provide the offense. LeBron accepted the challenge, just failed each time. Kyrie hit the nail in the coffin.

But yeah "sidekick".

5:24 - made 3 straight FTA to pull Cavs within one 87-86

4:53 - made 3pt shot to put Cavs up two 89-87

:10 - made 1 out of 2 FTA to put the Cavs up 4 and seal the game

:00 - you =  until you finally fall a sleep 4hrs later.
