View Full Version : I don't think people realize how bad Curry was in this Finals

I'm confident in saying that had Curry played zero minutes, Golden State sweeps this series and wins every game by double digits.

His numbers don't even tell the whole story. Scored 25 in Game 5, wasn't even one of the 3 best players on the floor. Dropped a completely empty 30 points in Game 6, with the majority of those coming with the Warriors down 15-20 points. Then last night in the biggest game of his career was once again not even the 3rd best player on the court. Curry had one truly great game all series in Game 4, and was legitimately not even the 2nd-3rd best player on the floor in every other game

What's shocking to me is how easily he turns the ball over. And his injury has nothing to do with it.He was making a ton of cheap turnovers last year's finals as well.Just stupid, careless passes.

His name is not Lebron. So ultimately very few people actually care about him "failing."

Some of it can be attributed to CLE making the proper adjustments to him.

Up there with Lebron's 2011 choke, Kobe's chuckfest in '04 and Tragic Johnson '84. Add to that giving up the 3-1 lead and being the 2007 New England Patriots of the NBA and its arguably one of the most disappointing losses in basketball history.

He was healthy since WCF.

That behind the back attempt was just...unbelievable.

more like Lebron 11 or something like Magic 84(but too a much worse extent). He can get over it especially since he has a ring already, it's not the end of the world for him.

gm 7 tho he was out there looking like 2011 Bron or Manu that year that he'd just bullet passes out of bounds. That behind the back pass Curry did as well as some of his major bricks... were really pathetic. I don't think that GS wins without Curry in the series, but coming down the stretch, I think they would have been better off to have him on the bench.
Once Curry throws that behind the back pass out of bounds, he's not coming back in the game, if I'm the coach. Be like sorry Curry but we wanna win.

3 points in the entire 4th quarter of G7 - at a home game.
0 points in the entire last 7 minutes of the game.
In a down to the wire 4 point loss. All he had to do was make two more measly baskets in the 4th or go to the free throw line twice to win the game. That was asking too much of the unanimous MVP though I guess.

Yea, he'll be fine, but it was terrible.
Definitely on par or worse than some of the worst finals performances ever.
He was picked on every single play on defense if possible...and he no showed the biggest game of his career.
His numbers are literally twice as good as his overall impact.
The dude has a teammate easily outplay Lebron James in a ****ing game 7 and his team still lost. Absurd from the MVP...so many other players get roasted in a much worse way if that happens to them.

yep the last part is definitely true. I'm guessing part of it is the injury rumors. Other part of it is that he has a ring already, winning a ring early in your career is an easy way to avoid criticism of later postseason duds.

I don't know why he started doing these stupid careless behind the back passes. He didn't do this very often in the regular season, when he did make those passes they were on target and less careless.
I think the pressure got to him+he was tired+playing through some bad injuries.
We'll see in the offseason if he gets surgery whether the reports are true that he was playing hobbled.

I don't buy that he was healthy at all. I think the injury issue was worse than he let on. Doesn't excuse some of the dumb turnovers and plays he attempted but I definitely think the injury was a factor.
