Professional teams have 12 players, not 1..this isn't tennis, nascar, or boxing where its an indiviual sport. A TEAM winning a championship is only a small percentage of a players legacy.

Yes.

But in bball and football and hockey (pretty much everything besides baseball, which is a large game made up of many isolated individual battles between pitcher and batter) it would be way too hard to try to isolate a player's value separate from his team.

So, we just go rings. I bet we are very wrong though.
