I have Bird higher too cuz peak play means a lot to me. But Magic is pretty low on his list. I probably put Lebron over Duncan because of the way he can control the whole game as a point forward. Shaq is very tough to rank because his play depends highly on his matchup imo. He could be anywhere in the middle of the top 10.

After his Game 6 @ Game 7 performances versus Boston in 2012, I claimed LeBron had the potential to be better AND greater than Magic only if he could compete that same way, more consistently, just because of the defensive impact and scoring ability he provides.

Here we go again, but this time Bron did it against a 73-win team who were CLEAR favorites to win the championship. He also did while being down 3-1, scoring back-to-back 40 point games (both essentially triple-doubles) and then the ACTUAL triple-double in Game 7.

If we're talking about careers? I have LeBron ~4th behind only Kareem, MJ and Russell. Peak and prime play? Shaq, LeBron and then Magic. Though you could probably argue LeBron > Shaq if we include regular-season feats and 4th quarter play in both the regular-season and playoffs (despite the infamous narrative, LeBron is actually a pretty good 4th quarter player).

Anyway, that's how I see it.

Yea, he simply doesn't have the longevity. Peak Bird was an animal though.

Fair enough. Im just not the type to penalize a player for being injured. From what i saw from 81 to 87 when healthy, he can go to battle with anyone

If the MVP went to the best player he would only have 1 of them because Allen Iverson and Jason Kidd were clearly more valuable to their teams than Shaq was to the Lakers.
