Even the most die hard Warriors fans have to admit that the record is meaningless now. There will forever be an asterisk next to that 73-9 in the record books. The record will become more of a curse and embarrassment than something to be proud of. Every time it's brought up it will only cause Warriors fans to relive painful memories of the time their team was the first team ever in NBA to choke away a 1-3 lead in the Finals(and with home court advantage at that).
Which leads me to the next question. How important is the record of first team to come back in the Finals down 1-3? People used to say spout nonsense like "couldn't be done", "not going to happen", etc. Now it HAS been done, as an underdog team without home court advantage. Teams facing elimination will always be able to go back and watch footage of the Cavaliers for inspiration now and get that extra boost of confidence that they can go out and make it happen too.
