He also came back from 3-1 down to defeat the 73 win defending champs for his 3rd FMVP while leading both teams in every statistical category

And the 3 years after that when they weren't able to do shit. :oldlol:

Remember Dwight, Nash, Gasol, Artest and Kobe? The superteam meant to take down the superteam. Only got into the damn playoffs due to the refs rigging the last two games for them. :oldlol:

I often wonder where these numbers come from. Am I the only one who remembers the Knicks having a 120+ million payroll and missing the playoffs? We laughed about it on here all year. I feel like the Blazers got in that range too.....but I know the Knicks were like 80 million over the cap. Maybe that was when they were still paying Alan Houston?

I just feel like ive read an article on the Knicks paying 120 million to miss the playoffs.

Highest payrolls:
2015- Cavs
2014- Nets
2013 Nets (Knicks were second)
2012- Lakers (Lol)
2011- Lakers
2010- Lakers
2009- Lakers
2008- Celtics
2007- Mavericks

So..yea.

Plus, once Steph gets a new contract GS will be right up there with Cleveland.

I mean, Shump is making 9 million a year.

This is correct, but why fault them for that? A large reason why the payroll was so large is because they resigned players that were going to leave. If you just made the Finals with a injured Irving and Love and still won two games, why wouldn't you resign the core back?

I like what was said during the locker-room celebration when they were popping champagne. Someone was hugging Dan Gilbert while all these bottles were popping and you can hear the guy hugging Gilbert yell out, "**** THE LUXURY TAX! **** THE LUXURY TAX!"

Are you saying you don't want an owner who is going to retain the players that got you to the Finals even with a injured squad and spend that money to put them in the best position to win?

Who cares about payroll when you win a championship? Give me 2008 Celtic payroll and championship every year please.

This argument is close to meaningless outside of baseball.

I guess we should discredit most of the Yankees' championships too.

Kind of negated and equalized by the fact that GSW was injured and went through the more difficult conference but a win for Cleveland is a win and I'll take it. Kyrie is just too good.

What are Yankees but a destination for Cleveland built talent?
