If Tyronn Lue can win an NBA championship, then it's official- you don't even need to be a competent or average coach to win in the NBA.
He is nothing more than LeBrons's coffee bitch, a figurehead 'Coach' who only got the job because the players cowardly quit on a decent man in Blatt.
A fire hydrant could have coached these Cavs in games 5-7 and won the title.

Lebron is a hell of a GM. He didn't do a bad job coaching now that I think of it.

Funny considering the Warriors were out coached as the series progressed.

He was an assistant for seven years. Not like he came out of nowhere.

Coaching is not a big deal . Just build the team very well and relax .
I watched too many games in history ( most of before Stern ) , Red Auerbach had great system , pressure and double/triple on ball sided field and put Russell in the center as keeper . And Phil Jackson had great sets , really great . Just watch Paxson's 3 against Suns .
I don't think showtime LA's greatness was about Riley . And i didn't see any margin on the court from coaches , beside of above two .

It's a player's league and always has been.
Draft or acquire a player like Lebron, Duncan, Shaq, Kobe, Dirk, Curry, Wade, etc., and put a decent squad around him and you're generally good to go.
I mean Avery Johnson "took his team to the Finals" one year, depending on how you look at it. Same for a bunch of other average coaches.

Basketball's too basic to rely heavily on coaching. Their people skills are often more important.

Coaching can change everything, Lue made so many adjustments over the past three months.

He made some adjustments in the last 4 games of the NBA Finals. And some of the best coaches in the NBA are former starting point guards in the NBA.
Lue is also a better player than Kerr at his peak.

And Lue's adjustments in-game as well as between games was quite good actually.
