Both he and SAS figured out that being brash and overly opinionated and stating your opinion as though it is fact equates to huge ratings and ultimately huge money.
Everyone that watches them just wants to tell them they are wrong and to fck off...and they are fully aware of that.
Professional trolls...and I don't hate them for it. If you fell for their act that's on YOU

Skip is basically the Sports Donald Trump. Being outrageous increases your brand recognition.

I can't stand him, but I can't act like I was always "above" watching him from time to time, and when he was off on whatever particular day I happened to tune in, I had zero interest. He's a complete douche, yes, but these type of shows like First Take are strictly for entertainment purposes. I doubt they even believe half the shit they say.

So basically a bunch of his co-workers are salty that they make a fraction of what he does in terms of salary.
nobody takes epsn and their commentators seriously, might as well make that money.
make that money skip.

The irony in this is how First Take feeds the ecosystem of ESPN TV. Because I'm pretty sure First Take pulls more ratings than those other hacks. More ratings, more money, more these guys get paid. Guess who is a big part of that ? Skip Bayless.

Fox is smart. They know people quickly grow tired of popular opinion. Guys like Colin Cowherd and Skip Bayless saying outlandish shit as loud as they can will consistently pull more ratings. I'm not sure what ESPN's talk show ratings look like, but their lineup is coma inducing. Only show I watch anymore is SportNation, because I think Max and Marcellus are an interesting contrast.

He should cut a check to Lebron since he's made a living bashing him over the last 7-8 years.

Much like "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around, does it make a sound?"
If Skip Bayless says something stupid on Fox Sports and no one is watching, does it actually mean anything?
And I watch Big East basketball, so I actually watch more FXSports than most people I know, but it still appears to be just floundering along.
And I don't know why. ESPN as their biggest competitor is horrible at covering sports news. And they keep getting blander and blander.

I remember watching him a while ago and realizing that Skip sounded exactly like the actor who played Michael Scott from the Office... Voice mannerisms and all.
I did a search on Google to see if anyone shared my opinion and found a YouTube video of Steve carrell as a guest on first take :lol
