Basic Cav's offense: 1) Get the switch to get Curry on the ball 2) Score

And get shut down by Love on the other end. But seriously he allowed himself to get shut down there. He made it obvious he wants to take the 3. Love was completely forcing him off the line but Curry was adamant. He could've easily gotten by Love of all people and tried to draw a foul inside or do a floater or something. Maybe he was scared of Bron inside? I don't know.

Guys playing with torn MCLs aren't usually good defenders

However, he's an elite defender (according to ESPN) when healthy. Plus #1 steals guy.

He's not a good defender and he doesn't like physicality. Make all the excuses you want for him it's always been this way. If the opposing teams strategy is to exploit you off the pick and roll then you're a liability. On top of that, if Curry isnt scoring then he's making very little impact. Kyrie doesn't respect him.

Irving's shot had nothing to do with bad defense from Curry. Irving just made a hard shot.

so why did Curry shut down LeBron practically every time he was switched on him in G7?

Yeah, LeBron didn't do much scoring on Curry in game 7 and through out the entire series

I would like to see the stat nerds breakdown how LeBron did while guarded by Curry....I don't think he even has a lot of FGA attempts, he passes out more than 2/3rds of the time

That was a an amazing shot no lie, but if you look throughout the game the game plan was to have Curry defend the ball

His defense isn't trash but it's not good either. He's mediocre or above average. The team around him just masks his weaknesses on defense. He used to be terrible though a couple years ago.
