Is LeBron the favorite next year to win the MVP? He completely solidified himself as the best player in the world last finals. Literally took it from the reigning MVP. I like his chances. Discuss.

He and James Harden are my picks for MVP. Lebron won't play in the Olympics. And he's going to have a 4 months rest, and a trip to Miami to get his vitamins.

I know he almost won in 2015, but :biggums:

I think he has a great shot. Cavs will win 60+ games next year, and be the second overall best record behind GSW, hell they have a great shot at the best record. Lebron being the best player on the team he has a great shot.

Unless there is a new great story line like this years Curry, which is highly unlikely, I think Lebron will win another MVP this coming year.

He's gonna average over 32 ppg in the Mike D'Antoni offense.

Dont you first need to have the next season to be completed first?

He could easily do it if he wanted to, but the MVP award is typically won by younger players (unless its given as a lifetime achievement) because players over 30 generally start conserving energy during the regular season to be more fresh in the postseason.

10%, he's going to be coasting. Nothing left to prove.

Any chances the media gift him one just like they did to MJ in the tail end of his Bulls career? I can see him coasting and still give you 25/7/7 and a first seed.

Steph's gonna 3-peat with the MVP then 3-peat disappearing in the finals probably.

I'm going with Durant or Westbrook. Lebron's going coast during the RS for the rest of his career. He's only winning MVP if his jumpshot suddenly becomes elite over a whole season since his numbers would be ridiculous.

Russell Westbrook if KD leaves for Spurs/Warriors or Kevin Durant if he goes to a team like Boston

He has a good shot. If the Cavs win 60 he'll get it.

All year I figured Curry would get it for a third straight year and become of the first 3 or 4 guys to ever threepeat with MVPs, but now I really think he's going to be de-incentivized to go after it after what the Dubs will likely view as a lesson regarding the RS. Couple that with voters getting tired of the same old thing and I'm pretty skeptical Curry will win it, though he IS top 2 in the game when 100%.

Durant has one and I'm not sure how many more notches he could take it up, and he also has a teammate that many people view as being a top 5-10 player or better, so I'm not seeing that either.

Could we see a Rose-type MVP this season? Maybe. It's possible if Indy does really well as a team we could see a PG13 win, but the door is as open for LeBron as it's ever going to be again to win even while coasting. Will he go for MVP? No way in hell. But is it possible that no one stands out as a "clear" runaway pick, leading to him getting it even at 80% Bron? I think so. I don't think he cares much about RS awards at this point but I'm sure he's cognizant of MJ having 5 to his 4 (though they both deserved so many more lol).

Gut feeling: LeBron and Kawhi are the top 2 vote getters in some order.

Too much coasting. My money is on Westbrook.

Coasting + decrease in minutes played........not likely to win it

Probably 30%. After our MVP was exposed this playoff, I think people would be weary about voting for Curry.

LeBron or Durant will get it.

Either way, we win.

Again.
