[INDENT]Warriors Owner Says Small Ball Experiment Is Over

And next season the rest of the NBA would use the formula Billy Donovan (and David Blatt started accidentally last year) to show how flawed of a team GS is.

Even if they won game 7, they would've lost 8 games in a 24 game postseason after losing only 9 in 82 regular season games. And this is after being one epic 4th quarter choke by Durant away from losing in 6 in the WCF.

Lacob and the GS coaching staff can see the writing on the wall.

Was my first thought too. Imagine they close that series out in 5? They'd almost insist on bringing back the same roster unless they somehow lured Durant which would never happen.

I hope "Light Years Ahead" Lacob over-thinks and screws the Warriors out of a great thing with unneeded tweaks to their structure, would be such poetic justice.

It's true but you could argue they'd be favorites regardless. It seems like there's more risk than anything in making changes, and I hope whatever upgrades they try to make end up getting botched.

They have to be very careful with any adjustments they make to a 73-win roster that only seemingly began slowing down after Curry started having some injury issues.

The formula being have a Westbrook/Kyrie level scorer at the PG spot to go at Curry while having versatile long athletic defenders who can switch effectively between guarding Curry and Draymond.

90% of the league can't even run a play that doesn't devolve into a star having to bail his team out at the end of the shot clock, let alone even consider challenging the Warriors.

Its interesting seeing an actual owner so vocal about the structural changes going forward Maybe Kerr and the GM would have something to say about that? OR maybe Lacob is just the mouthpiece for them.

I know that it has been there since for ever but, IMO, the small ball trend truly kicked off with Miami winning 2 in a row.

The Warriors were either ******* or they just choked their asses off. Curry makes one of those finals 2 3's he took and these LeBron stans would be Casper right now. Kyrie literally made a Hail Mary to put the Cavs up. We wouldn't have these threads, if Curry and Klay did not choke their asses off in G7.

Try giving credit where it's due.

you make it sound like the warriors won 14 games last year

everyteam has flaws......but to say how flawed as to insinuate that they were a lottery team is just mind blowing. GET WELL SOON

the Cavs played small ball a lot in the Finals too. Yea this is Lacob overreacting as usual. Who could forget his light years ahead of the rest of the league quote.

I hope you realize this doesn't equate to "no more threes" or slowing down the pace.

They were one shot away from winning it all, don't expect any extreme changes.

Stop watching the NBA if you are so distraught, its not worth the emotional turmoil~!

No, not at all the formula. :lol

If it was then Portland should've killed the Warriors all season and in the playoffs.

I can see it (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=409829). So can the Warriors owner himself.

Why can't you? :confusedshrug:

How many times did the Warriors get absolutely blown out in the playoffs? Not a coincidence.

LeBron's the size of Karl Malone. Not a coincidence.

People in this thread don't understand basketball

Building a team is like playing cards, you have to make the best with what you are dealt with

The reason teams failed constructing small ball while copying the warriors is because they did not have the right personnel, and the right personnel wasn't available

With Barnes leaving and the Warriors looking to make some new signings, they do not have the opportunity to replace all the necessary parts for their small ball so in consequence...

The warriors are going to do the smart thing and take it in another direction

And there would be no Curry stans/Warrior bandwagons if Kyrie were healthy last year.

HAHAHAHHAHA this is just too good.

Was saying this shit all season, how stupid and over hyped a line up it was, was never going to last.

This Warriors team was pumped up way too much by brainless 'fans' of basketball.

In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th edition, of the American Psychiatric Association, they define narcissism as a personality disorder where there is

A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:

1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)

2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love

3. believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)

4. requires excessive admiration

5. has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations

6. is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends

7. lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others

8. is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her

9. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes
