Warriors. Brady>Lebron. Sorry to say. Brady wasn't expected to be anything in the nfl and has been WINNING at life sense he took over for Bledsoe. Also Brady's wife is way hotter

I think the Patriots losing was the bigger upset. The Cavs at least were considered a title contender and had LeBron, the Giants were 10-6 and absolutely NOBODY thought they'd win the title either heading into the season or before the playoffs started.

the Giants did that typical thing where they look like theyre average all year long, then their D-Line goes godmode and destroys opposin teams in the playoffs.. there's a lot more parity in football, one crazy catch can swing the whole game, but overall I think cavs and warriors were more evenly matched especially by the end of the series to say the giants were bigger underdogs. it's just easier for the underdog to win in football

The writing was on the wall though. Patriots were trending down towards the end of the season. The Giants played them very tough in the final season match up. Plus winning one game is a hell of a lot easier then winning four. That is why upsets happen way more often in the nfl

Yea... Cavs winning is the second biggest finals upset since '84 according to ELO ('06 is first but that was controversial)

Warriors for sure. That Pats team honestly wasn't 18-1 good in my mind, and them losing didn't shock me. Like Bonner said they were trending down in the second half in a big way and were somewhat fortunate they hadn't lost yet. I am a Patriots fan but even I can admit that team was flawed and could have gone down as one of the most overrated teams ever had they won that. The Pats team in 2014 in my mind was much better.

The way I look at it though

If the Pats played the Giants in 7 games

They would've came out victorious

But that's all subjective

Wild though, Kyries three was almost synonymous to Tyree's catch

Then Plexico closed it out with the TD along side Lebron's FT

You're obviously entitled to your opinion, but I think that's a ridiculous statement. The '14 Pats lost by 2 TD's in the opener and got massacred 41-14 by a Chiefs team that didn't even make the playoffs. The '07 Pats NEVER looked that bad. Even in the Super Bowl, it took the worst play call in history to save them from losing

I feel that way because it really felt like the Pats went away from being the Pats that year. Their usual "cog in the offense" approach really seemed to take a backseat to the admittedly amazing Moss Brady connection, and eventually it felt like teams started to take that away and gradually made that team much more human-looking and very beatable after the first 6 or so games. They still had Welker and company which was huge, but it really felt like the first look every play was to take the top off and go deep, which is hard to sustain at that level. The greatness of those guys made up for it, but it seemed to me '14 Pats only got stronger as the season went along, while '07 got weaker. Personnel-wise... it's very debatable I think.

Pats 07 for sure. No one really expected the Giants to win that game except diehard NY fans.

Patriots; their starters weren't injured or suspended.

That being said, Giants got away with a lot of after the whistle contact with Brady.

Warriors, Patriots didnt have an opponent of Love caliber who missed a whole game due to injury, and playing 20-25 minutes because of a concussion another 2 games, right?

Also probably no other star on the Giants hurt their ankle and played a messed up half, like Irving in game 6.

It isn't a big upset against the warriors this year as they lost key players to injuries in certain times of the series and was favored by the majority of fans going in to the series

'favored by the fans' is his new shtick, seing as all the analysts and betting sites had GSW, lol..

hey idiot, if CLE was favored by fans, Vegas would reflect that...

not sure how it was on the US nba site, but on the german, about 10000 votes before game 7, and it was 60/40 in favor of GSW.

Patriots. There were actually a couple ESPN analysts who had Cavs over the Warriors, it would've been a bigger upset last year if the Cavs won. Don't think any analyst picked the Giants but can't be sure. Pats did start look mediocre in the playoffs but it means a lot more to look meh in a 7 game series like GSW did vs OKC than to look mediocre in a game.

vegas are favoring GSW to win next year too.
Most fans would still have the cavs.
Just look at this forum for example, the majority had cavs winning.
Both teams were pretty evenly matched

Patriots. The Cavs had the highest payroll in the league. The Giants on the other hand were nowhere near the Patriots in terms of star power. I think the circumstances also magnified the upset. 19-0 would have arguably been the best season in the history of major professional sports. Unblemished and 2 more wins than the '72 Dolphins. I know the Warriors were having a historic season in their own right, but perfection is perfection.

Yea right. That's why the Giants beat them again 4 years later. Not that it counts, but they played in the preseason and Giants won that too. Basically Coughlin owned Belichick.

I sports bet online

Can you link me to these 2017 Finals odds favoring the Warriors?

I'd love to know which sites bet on that during free agency

Thanks in advance

So the Cavs didn't have the highest payroll in the league? Maybe my numbers are off. I guess I'll have to double check that.

I think it's clear the Patriots losing was the bigger upset.

A better question is what's more improbable, 18-0 team losing to a 10-6 team, or coming back 3-1 down w/o home court in NBA Finals? That's more equivalent.

Who gives a shit about the highest payroll? Im pretty sure the Mavericks had the highest payroll for multiple years.. stop naming irrelevant facts cause youre a bitch now that LeBrons gone.

Calm down bro. As soon as the Cavs won I made a post congratulating Lebron and acknowledged how great he was in the finals. I also said that he put an end to the narrative of him not being able to win outside if Miami.

The payroll comment was a bit of trolling, but I do think the Patriots' loss was the bigger upset. When a team has the best player in the world, I have a hard time considering it THAT big an upset. I will say this, winning 3 straight elimination games was definitely more improbable than the Giants winning 1 game.

2016 Warriors. Super Bowl is 1 game, anything can happen.
