View Full Version : I worry that Lebron will get figured out again like 2014

It's eerily similar - Lebron gets lucky in the Finals, the other team steams for an entire year scheming how to make him a non-factor, and then proceeds to blow him out in record fashion the next year.

Yup... I'm predicting it now... Warriors will destroy him next year... It's happened before..

Of course

Warriors and CLE are still the two best teams and will end up seeing each other in the Finals

I don't think LeBron will be able to see the same set of favorable circumstances he did this year

Golden State should be able to win it fairly easily

How mad are you that Jordan never got to lead both teams in all categories?

Unlike the Warriors last year who faced the Cavs without Kyrie/Love for most of the Finals :lol

It took four years for MJ to figure out the Pistons. :yaohappy:

Warriors had some favorable circumstances last year

Cleveland had some favorable circumstances this year

When both teams are healthy and being untampered by the commissioner, it's quite obvious that Golden State is still better

How mad are you that LeBron's done something Jordan could never do?

not at all - many players have done things Jordan has never done - Hakeem averaged 3+ blocks - Jordan's never done that - there's plenty more

but the things jordan has done are more impressive:

He didn't get "figured out". That 14' Heat team was old and injured. Wade's knees were ****ed and he had the worst playoff run of his career, Bosh was a non factor, Chalmers and Cole both extremely unreliable, Allen and Battier ready to retire, Birdman and Haslem steeply declined.

Imaginary positive rep given. Especially if Durant decides to go to New York with Mello.

Lol based on what? The cavs had two players that played heavy minutes miss all but less than one game in 2015. The warriors had one guy that was a net negative miss 2 and a half games and one player they lost by almost the same amount when he returned miss 1 game.

Healthy cavs have always been a notch above golden state. Had the better record post trades in 2015, had the better record down the stretch this year also.

So let's review:. Bogut - net negative that plays limited minutes. Golden state was better without him. Green-good player that missed 1 game. Next game he comes back, his team loses by one less point than they did without him.

Warriors excuses: insignificant at best

Kyrie's performance was so extraordinary for a 2nd option, that I made a thread about it and pointed out how much better he played than Pippen ever did.

But Lebron mostly makes star teammates worse in the playoffs: Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Mo Williams, and Kevin Love - that's 4 all-stars - they all played worse with Lebron in the playoffs - so yeah, that's threadworthy too

He didn't get "figured out".

He did - the Spurs were 'on' to his efficiency preservation, shot-restricting strategy - they knew he would only take 17 shots per game like he did all year and therefore wasn't a threat for a big game - so they played him single-coverage and stayed at home on teammates to shut them down.

It isn't coincidence that Lebron had a couple good efficiency years in Miami, before his efficiency preservation strategy got blown up in 2014, and now he could care less how often he shoots and what his efficiency is (he literally doubled his shot attempts in 2015 Finals).

Btw, don't give me nonsense about how no one else could've done more.. In 23 out of the 26 years since 1991, the team leader in shot attempts on the Finals-winning team took more than 25.56% of the team's shots - so the load Lebron undertook on in 2014 Finals (25.56% of his team's shots) was not a large load, and the notion that he couldn't have done more, or no one else WOULD have done more, is wrong - 23 out of the last 26 did more..

As soon as MJ quit the 1st time in 94......Horace Grant and BJ Armstrong made their only all-star team. Pippen elected 1st team All-NBA for the first time also.

Clearly played better w/o MJ.....

Its quite possible, he's no 100% finals win Jordan.

As he's averaging below 50% finals wins, the odds are against him winning next year.

As he plays in the East though and has a cake walk, it does help his chances that little bit.

so you're saying lebron is going to be the underdog for a 5th straight year?? breaking records again!
