For guys that get called "career losers" in some circles, (Barkley, Malone, Melo, Reggie) why don't their Gold medals seem to carry any weight? I mean, those medals prove they were part of the best basketball team in the WORLD at one point. Not just the League or the country, but the world...

Of course they still look good on a H.O.F. resume, but there are still a lot people that act like they never won anything because they didn't a chip. Why is that?

NBA competition > world competition... Dream Team for instance was one of the best teams ever compiled, They were stacked. Not even factoring in the relatively weak international competition at the time (competition has gotten better for sure)... Having said that, props to guys like Ginobili and Gasol who've lead and gotten gold medals for their national teams. It's a bit different imo

So you're telling me that winning three games against teams like Tony Parker + 4 NBA role players (France) or Pau Gasol + Ibaka + 3 NBA role players (Spain) in a single elimination tournament is even close to winning four 7 game series against the best NBA teams in the league?
