in the final 3 games Kobe put up 34.3 ppg on 67.1% TS. in game 6 Kobe put up 50 points on 66% TS including 36 in the second half. In game 7, Kobe had 23 points on 67% TS in the first half but the Lakers were still getting destroyed. Kobe was out there ballin. It was the rest of his team that chit the bed.

Just looks bad to lose to Detroit.

what? Lakers lost to a very good Suns team. That Suns team with MVP Nash, Marion, Diaw, Barbosa, Raja Bell, Tim Thomas was loaded. That Lakers team was awful. It was Kobe and Odom the rest of the team was literally scrubs.

Same thing happened in the '09 ECF, yet people say LeBron choked in that series

It's unfair criticism, which I thought so at the time and still think so ten years later. A lot of it just centers around Kobe's many haters who just enjoyed seeing him fail.

But the criticism centers on his lack of scoring in the second half of Game 7 of that series. While I was watching the game, it seemed that Phil told Kobe to get his teammates more involved at halftime and Kobe tried to do that for the first 5 or 6 minutes of that third quarter, and then over that time the Lakers deficit ballooned to 25 points, or something like that, I don't remember exactly. But it was obvious that the game was over.

I believe that Kobe gave it his all in that Game 6 loss when he scored 50 points and they still lost, and then the same thing happened in Game 7.

Stat padding. Then had a horrible game 7 but it's no surprise considering his game 7 history :lol
Kobe up 3-1 couldn't close the deal. No killer instinct.

Completely different scenario. Phx (54-28) was supposed to destroy the Lakers (45-37) while the Cleveland (66-16) had the best record in the NBA and was supposed to beat Orlando (59-23).

You can't just ignore proper context. You have to see each situation for what it is.

Let me make this easier - LeBron was out there ballin. It was the rest of his team that chit the bed.

That's literally what happened. Outside LeBron, the team shot ~43%.

And lets be real; Amare didn't play the whole series. Its not like the Suns were some unstoppable force.

Lebron played better than Kobe and still lost. How do you consider Lebron's situation choking and Kobe's not?
