The Sixers plan to be serious suitors for Golden State restricted free agent Harrison Barnes at the start of free agency, league sources say

Don't let the last few games of the Finals fool you...Barnes is a pretty damn nice player but not close to what he will get in FA.

Would be a solid pickup but again, he will command too much $ for the production he will bring.

A loser like Harrison Barnes would be a great fit for a loser franchise like the 76ers.

Real talk though...a 3 game sample size ain't shit.

Barnes is an above average player.

Klay shit himself in the finals last year, Harden did so too in his only finals.

Young players failing in the finals is normal.

Barnes is decent, not a max player.

Still:

Barnes
Simmons
Embiid

Not bad front court.

Exactly.:confusedshrug:

Like I said in OP, what he will command will vastly exceed his production...but the 76ers barely have any salary committed. He could sign for the max 4 years and it still really wouldn't hurt them financially....If he bombs he could be a great expiring contract in a few years when the young talent they have need to be resigned to contracts.

Barnes is a nice player. Had a bad Finals, but Curry f.aggots going to use him as scapegoat for their unanimous MVP having the biggest choke in NBA history

If Philly offers him a deal on July 1st.... the Warriors will be in a predicament because the Durant saga will take a little while to "sort out." It very well may push GS to act quickly and either:

1) match on Barnes and forget Durant
2) skip Barnes and continue to pursue Durant

And either is not a great option because having Barnes at a huge price will hurt them the following summer with AI/Livingston coming up.... and if they go after Durant they may not get him and left with nothing.....

Sign and trade for Noel. Dubs should contact the sixers.

5 of 32 last 3 games and not the scapegoat doe   Bran f.aggots logic cease to amaze.

barnes is a very fundamentally sound player who played 4th wheel in the starting 5, even with injuries to it.

no one really knows how to accurately predict what kind of player he'll be given the keys to the team as a 2nd option.

He's a role player for a reason. The other one is the first unanimous MVP in history, while not having the best of series in the meantime.

He should take every nickel if Phila is going to offer it to him. Enjoy the cheesesteaks and 20-win seasons.

He's got a ring and a big payday, I'd say he's a success regardless of how these next few years go for him.

Kind of like how you guys will throw all of Lebron's teammates under the bus when they play like shit and place the blame mostly on them whenever they would lose?

You must be kidding.

Barnes is an above average player.

Actually, he's an incredibly average player. His greatest talent is hitting wide open corner 3's. He can't dribble worth shit. Can't pass worth shit. Doesn't attack the rim or post up. Isn't a great rebounder. And he lacks lateral quickness, which makes him a below average defender.

I pray to god we don't match any type of max contract offer, assuming someone is dumb enough to give him one.

I would call Colangelo and ask for Nerlens Noel in a sign and trade.

Barnes could only sign on July 6 and the dubs have 3 days to match.

Simmons' future is at SF. Two of next year's #1 pick prospects are SF (Jackson and Taytum). Ofc Sixers are interested in Barnes. LMAO

Such a loser franchise.

Why would the Sixers trade their talent when they can sign the guy outright? That makes no sense. Sign and trades are for teams who can't afford the FA.

Then Philly says throw in Curry and we have a deal.

Philly has zero reason to trade Noel for a free agent.

It'd be dumb to start Simmons at PF.
The Sixers should keep their big man line up of Noel and Embiid/Okafor unless they trade one of the 2.

Brett Brown doesn't expect all 3 Cs to be on the opening day roster and says he would be shocked if a trade doesn't go down to balance the roster. So a trade is 100% going to happen and most likely for a guard.

Yeah he did turn it down, and he will get much more than that ($22m).
And GSW could match it anyway.

This is not surprising, but not sure he's worth an extra $20M/year over Robert Covington. Seriously.

Also Philly has gotten wayyy more leak-friendly since the Colangelos took over.

Barnes is a very solid and fundamentally sound player but what you see from him now is basically what you're gonna get. I dont see him improving THAT much throughout his career. However, he is not worth that much money.

Rudy Gay used to play SG. Sixers want him??

Philly gets - Rudy Gay
Sac gets - Nerlens Noel + 2018 1st rnd pick (genius move if Sac's 2017 pick goes to Philly...that pick is so convoluted right now)

I'd throw in Cousins, but that'd defeat the purpose of the Sixers freeing up the logjam at big lol. Maybe throw in a 3rd team to send Okafor to...

You owe Philly an unprotected 2019 first rounder. And DMC is an UFA in summer 2018. I'd try to get that back for sure.

The Bulls have some sort of play for that 2017 1st rnd pick, too, I thought. And I thought the 2019 1st rnder is just the 2017-18 one if it gets that far? Sixers do have Kings' 2019 2nd rnd, though.

At least that's how I interpret it based off http://www.prosportstransactions.com/basketball/DraftTrades/Years/index.htm although they're missing the 2019 Kings pick from 2016-18 going unprotected. ...I think?

Guess I'll try reading this instead: http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2016/2/18/11046100/kings-nba-trade-rumors-pau-gasol-draft-pick-sixers-bulls

He has no outside game whatsoever. He's not a SF. Could he play it? Sure, but you better have a stretch 4 and shooters at the 1 & 2. Wait why am I explaining this to an idiot such as yourself? :oldlol: Get a clue
