2013: Dwight Leaves

2014: Can't get Melo

2015: Cant get Aldridge or Deandre

2016: Can't get Durant or Whiteside

I blame Kobe and him single handling ruining the Lakers franchise over the last 5 years with his cancerous tendencies.

Thoughts?

Bingo.

Been saying that for years but get labeled as a troll for speaking truth. Kobe's selfish ways have literally devastated a once great franchise. Actually really sad. :(

Only the smart posters can see through the BS and boil it down to Kobe being a cancer.

Don't let the sub 50 IQ posters put you down

The Hawks. The Lakers are right there though.:oldlol:

The Lakers fans actually expect to get these guys and so maybe you're correct for having them number one.

This new era let an old broken man shoot his way for 35% for a year and he got more praise than Lebron ever has for it!

What a pathetic weak era:facepalm

Everyone think about that.

Dude there's nothing you can say to elevate you beyond the immense loser status you've grown into on this board. You try to be condescending but it's cringe worthy now.

Today's NBA talent doesn't give a shit about 'historic' teams like the Lakers or Celtics. Those teams are a joke today. They want to go where they can produce now. Smart on them. Ainge and Buss are moronic GMs who got by on a lot of their legacy in franchise name alone.

While the Knicks are collecting turds and Boston is stocking worthless draft picks.

Despite who the poster is. He's kinda got a point. I always give L.A a huge advantage because of there market. Even "haters" know deep down you should probably pencil in a FA going to L.A at some point but they keep striking out pretty hard. Durant not even giving them a meeting? If true that's a huge slap in the face. That's like getting grouped in with the ... Nuggets :oldlol: shit has went sour in a big way since penciling in rings after Howard/Nash/Kobe.

I think Westbrook is probably there best shot. Went to UCLA, a L.A native I believe? .. Loves fashion, attention, his brand etc. Clarkson/Russell kinda make it a bad fit I guess.

Yeah this is recent. All-Time Lakers have signed the best FA's no doubt. It's actually kinda crazy. They've won rings because of FA. I wonder what's changed lately. Usually you just need L.A to sell it. Maybe with twitter, 24/7 media cycle, pressure of L.A it's not the advantage it once was. Some guys may prefer to travel to L.A for a couple weeks as opposed to living there. Following in Kobe's shadow could play a part. Everybody wanting to team up and win rings can't help. Nobody wants to wait 4 years.

No they haven't. :facepalm

Spoken like a true 15 year old that knows nothing about Lakers history. :lol

Signing someone like Shaq in free agency has been the outlier exception, not the rule. Lakers have built most of their championship success through the draft (Magic, Kobe, West, Worthy) and via trades (Wilt, Kareem, Gasol, Odom). If you want to say Kobe was a "trade" because we traded for his draft rights instead of drafting him outright it still applies.

And no one who's actually good wants to sign with a team that doesn't have a playoff roster already, no matter how big or attractive the market is. The Lakers will have to build a playoff team first, without relying on free agents, before the free agents start rolling in again.
