The 76ers are still without a point guard since moving on from Michael Carter-Williams and Clarkson could be a worthwhile grab for them, and if nothing else they at least force the Lakers into a contract laid out on enemy terms.

LAL seems to be in love with the kid, so I don't think 76ers can actually get him, but we probably force LA to overpay for the kid. And otherwise, he would indeed fit the 76ers' roster.

Even though he's my people I should be supporting this move, but just not into him. I haven't seen a solid game from him yet. But maybe because the Lakers were in Kobe farewell mode I didn't get a great sample size.

Still have high hopes for this guy. Really want to see him play fully now that Kobe's gone.

Solid pickup imo.

I think that they should present Tyler Johnson with an offer sheet as well. Heck, even throw one at Gallow. They combine for like $16M in 1st year salary anyway. Can technically afford to "Arena Rule" all 3 of them.

Idk man signing him might be good it would also make LA worse and we have their draft pick next year, but signing him could make the lakers horrible enough to keep their top 3 pick

Oh noes, please no. Not the kind of players that make their teammates better, and actually -arguably- make them worse (at least Knight).

Shouldn't Lakers then match 76ers and try to trade him? That way Lakers don't lose him for nothing? But then again, 76ers can just sign another player.

But Clarkson, Lou and Young and additional picks for that freak Noel. That would make my day.

He's a solid NBA guard and has some room for growth. But he is undersized for a 2 and will struggle against a lot of 2's defensively. He's athletic but not ultra athletic. He can get to the rack and his shot is decent. His skills would have to really come together sort of like McCollum at Portland to take that next step. I don't know if he has that type of "game."

:oldlol: You think Clarkson is some superstar and has that type of impact in the win-loss column? Lakers have too much talent to be a bottom 3 team even without him.

Why don't you like Bled? Dude is ultra athletic and a very good defender. His ceiling is high if he improves his game and bball iq.

Who do they have at guards? Russell, Huertas, Lou and Clarkson? Yet losing Clarkson wouldn't hurt them? Really?

Clarkson is no superstar, but Lakers' roster is thin and losing him would have an impact.

However a S&T can definitely be arranged. I'd gladly flip Clarkson/Lou/Young/etc for Nerlens from the Lakers' standpoint. Philly's FO would be stupid to do that deal though haha.

Clarkson is just a guy. He's not going to affect the win-loss column much.

That's an unpopular opinion, but I'll respect it

Yeah, I was talking about a S&T. Philly has so many bigs, you have to keep trying. Never know if they might bite. But I realize it is a lopsided trade.

Lol. Then what type of player do you think he is? A star? All-star caliber? To me, he is an average starting guard and very good first guard off the bench.

I actually think Philly would give Clarkson an offer sheet, but I don't think he's a great fit with Simmons. He'd be a nice change of pace guy off the bench for them though.

I think Philly would be better off with Tyler Johnson, Galloway, Bazemore, Lance Thomas type FAs. Young-ish guys who can complement Simmons.

I do agree that they should move a big man, and I think they maybe waited too long. Maybe the offers weren't good enough though. I thought Okafor for #3/#16/#31 wouldn't have been unfair for either side. Depending on how Boston does in FA, I could see an Okafor trade potentially.

Opinions aside, he is a young guard in a roster that has only 4 guards, out of which one is quite below average, one is a very good 6th man, and another one is a sophomore with a lot to prove.

Let's say I agree with your opinion for a second. With that roster, losing an "average starting guard / good first guard off the bench" has an impact on the W-L column. No, it won't decide the fate of the Lakers, but it's a move that would substantially improve 76ers' chances of getting a better pic.

He made All-Rookie first team, I would like to see Noel included if Sixers are gonna go for him. Could be a legit Sixth Man of the Year candidate or really good PG on a shit team like Philly.

no pun intended

Lol if Sixers actually trade Noel or Okafor for Clarkson.
