No one seems to talk about the Mavericks offseasons much. They have consistently lost out on key free agents and they just lost out on Whiteside. They can't get anyone of note. I am shocked Dirk hasn't left but it's good he is loyal.

Why can't Dallas get anyone? Is it because of Cuban? I thought Dallas has no state tax? I am confused. Why can't they attract FAs?

The Hard Cold truth is the Lakers need to get better first with their young talent and a few vets to get to snag a big name player. They need to work their way back to beeing a premier destination. Jim Buss dropped the ball big time. Mozkov signing was not that bad actually. If he works after that knee surgery he can be productive without breaking the bank. just my opinion.

Only difference now is that they don't have an in prime all time great franchise player cleaning it all up to make it work on the court.

Mark and Nellie have done such a shit job building around Dirk it's a joke. Made only worse by the fact that they act, especially Mark, like they are the smartest guys in the room.

Dudes are a joke...and the fact that they put the franchise in this position after the 12 and 13 debacles is pathetic.

Mavs were a really good team building in the right direction in 14...and they ****ed it all up to chase Parsons.

That's what im about to say. The Lakers and the Mav's have to be careful in giving out max or large contracts as the franchise could be crippled for many many years. Improve with youth first and a steady mix of vets until the situation becomes more ideal to land a Star

I believe the lakers have somewhat of a better situation. But with Jim at the helm things could get worst. Lakers have 4-5 young talent to build on and cap space though.

Mavs had some legendary teams the past decade but he blew them up. I loved the '14 team. I feel bad for you guys. Dirk even said he would leave if Mavs going into rebuild mode.
