View Full Version : How Did The Clippers "Blow Away" KD?

I don't see how. It's the fvcking clippers. No legacy. No room to sign a bench. Chris Paul on the decline, DJ dumb BBIQ, JJ Reddick will be gone to clear space.
Jamal gone to clear space, Doc Rivers treated his son like a latchkey kid.
Ballmer gonna offer KD stock in Microsoft? Minority ownership to KD? I don't get what would be so impressive about Clips especially the embarrassment of last free agency.
Billy Crystal is gonna shine his shoes?

Clippers: we will actually pass you the ball and let you be the 1st option

Simple. The starting lineup compliments him absolutely perfectly.
A backcourt who can set him up, hit spot up shots, and wont compete with him for iso attempts.
A frontcourt with good passers that can rebound.
He gets to be the first option/go-to iso guy, but with a team around him that can contribute significantly. It's pretty much what every player wants.
Not to mention the Clips are a vet team, who just like him havent won a chip yet. So theyre all hungry.
Its actually a really good fit.

"We have to trade away literally everyone except Chris, Blake, and DJ in order to sign you. Oh, and you need to take a pay cut too."

No legacy is why KD could walk right in and be the best Clipper best player ever. Him and CP3. Plus the LA nightlife and city which shits all over po dunk cow town OKC.
As for basketball reasons? Roster fits him better. A fellow superstar and true PG who wants to distribute first and not battle for alpha dominance of ISO possessions. No legacy to a franchise is the new grounds for a superstar to go.
Why go to Chicago and compete with the ghost of MJ and 6 ring legacy? Only one crazy enough to consider it was Kobe.
Demarcus Derozan just got scared off going to his hometown Lakers because of his idol Kobe's legacy.
The bar is set way too high at these destinations. Most of the time you'll come up failing. So these guys see it better to avoid all together.

They have to trade Griffin or else they'll have a shitty bench.

Multiple sauces. Hot sauce. BBQ sauce. Anything KD wants.

Yeah, trading BG might even be better. CP3 and DJ were great when they were surrounded by shooters. DJ had more room to roll to the basket. Getting some 3 and D wings might make the pieces fit better.

Ballmer got some Microsoft dudes to put together a ultra-HD, 4 hour flop video of the Clippers. Here's some of the footage from the meeting:

Well is does make sense on almost every level, and we'd finally get to see what a Paul/KD duo would really look like.
Really the ONLY place I could see him leaving for. It'd be the place where he could win now, live in a great place, and receive much lesser criticism. (Clippers haven't done shit EVER, so he'd be a hero like he is in OKC)

Durant in the Clips would be a good team in terms of the starting lineup but whom would they get to fill the bench. Pretty sure they would have to give up rights to FA and Reddick if they Durant and keep their 3 top players. Not to mention they could also trade Griffin to make this work.
Then again they could always hold him hostage at his home. Lol

This is a likely deal for KD to come to LA. But would it be better for him to team up with Paul/DJ or stay with Westbrook and try to make it work with their new additions. Not to mention he was one qtr away from the finals with a OKC team that seems to be better now.

Do they still got Lance Stephenson? He's good at blowing into ears. Or maybe they got some strippers. Who knows?

Can KD even go to LAC while they retain Blake?

If Durant goes to the Clippers and they're able to keep CP3/Blake/DeAndre, the Clippers are without a doubt in my mind making the finals.
