Comments on the data:

The data shows that Lebron took less contested shots (where a defender left their feet to contest), and more uncontested shots (where no defenders left their feet).

Don't be surprised that more of Lebron's shots were uncontested - today's offenses keep 3-4 players standing behind the 3-point line on every play (spacing), so the defense is stretched out and can't make timely rotations most of the time

Jordan didn't have the luxury of spacing, so defenders were in closer proximity and his shots were more contested - superior midrange shooting ability kept his efficiency the same as Lebron's despite the superior contests.

Uhhh, no, that was defense by committee. Also with Marion and Chandler... you know, two of the best defenders the league has ever seen.

Far more cunning than Lebron needed to get around Diaw.

Majerle was a 2-time all-nba defender, and Jordan was also guarded by rising star Richard Dumas, who was a long and very athletic (https://media.giphy.com/media/26h0pswrpjgYgMvBe/giphy.gif) wing (100 dunks in 1993 season (http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=6i9zef&s=8#.U_02XvldX2U)).. He was also guarded by KJ, who looked much tougher to score on than the many times Curry got stuck on Lebron.

Then somehow penetrate through the twin towers of Barkley and Tom Chambers.

You forgot about Oliver Miller, who was a top 10 shot-blocker and had one of the longest wingspans in the league - his career block % and blocks per 100 is higher than Bogut's.

You also forgot about Mark West, their athletic starting Center, who routinely got 90+ dunks a year:

What challenging competition

Jordan faced far greater defensive attention because he outscored Pippen by 20 ppg, while Lebron outscored Kyrie by only 2 ppg - so the defense had to pay nearly equal attention to Kyrie.

Also, the 1993 Finals were played at a slower pace (85.8) than the 2016 Finals (92.0).

Finally, post #5 (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12497848&postcount=5) above provides the play-by-play that shows a much higher number of Jordan's shots were *contested* in his 55 point game (where one or more defenders *left their feet* to contest), than Lebron's Game 6 of these Finals.

Add Shaq and Wade and some others to the original post.
Also? Saammuri swish made a post where he included overall game score averages. Please include that! Let's make this thread the definitive finals stats thread:applause:
