Title contender. Genius coach. Depth. Multiple draft picks. Flexible contracts. Goat fan base. Cemented legacy as a legend. He threw all of that away for the guarantee of a ring. A ring that will have very little value.

It was the only acceptable option for a team change that wouldn't question his legacy.

Best Option was to go the Jordan route and stay and win on his own terms. But he clearly felt he wasn't good enough to do that and will forever be a villain to OKC and diehard ball fans who will just :facepalm

Yup, the time of allstars taking shortcuts just team up with a super team who had 3 superstars and a great coach. The easiest route indeed, instead of recognizing that his team was one win away from going to the finals, as if OKC has never beaten the Spurs twice, once already in the finals a few years ago.
If there's one consolation, it would probably prevent that ring chaser David West from doing the same thing.

I absolutely agree with this. I was pulling for either OKC/Boston for him, but I think Boston definitely would have been the best option.

Nice defensive core around you, great coach, undisputed #1 option, Eastern Conference, playing for one of the most historical basketball franchises...

But nah, this n!gga runs with his tail between his legs to the team he choked against. :oldlol:
