Lakers send: Jordan Clarkson, Nick Young, 2017 protected first round pick
Lakers receive: Russell Westbrook

Lakers gamble on one year of Westbrook hoping he resigns next year. OKC gets young talent and draft pick in return.

Thoughts on this trade?

Why would the lakers do this?

Why would russell resign? He was just a game short of reaching the finals and now you think he's ok with missing the playoffs?

The Thunder without Ibaka and Durant are trash. WB should absolutely leave.

Westbrook is a UCLA kid. It's time to come home to LA. He can help Ingram reach his potential

Gotta keep Nick Young on LAL. He and Westbrook together would bring the lawls.

and also a 1st rnd pick that ended up being adams. Lamb had more value at that time than young, and kevin martin was better then clarkson too(and he will want to get paid). Current westbrook is 3/4 times the player than 2012 harden too

Thunder would get a promising young player and potential lottery pick instead of letting Westbrook walk for nothing. This is an excellent deal.

clarkson is not that good... mediocre defender and distributor. he is an interesting piece, a good 6th man at most not more. and who knows if it would be a lottery pick? lakers could easily make the playoffs this season with westbrook and some other moves.

It really is an awful deal. Just compare it to what the Knicks/hornets/magic got for CP3/melo/dwight.

The Lakers will definitely be interested if Russell doesn't agree to an extension with OKC, if Russell doesn't like his trade location then he isn't going to resign next summer so he needs to agree on the team.

Why would OKC not ask for Ingram? They are giving a proven superstar to get a sophomore who already reached his ceiling of 15 pts, 4 assists/game.
