With Kevin Durant heading to the Golden State Warriors for the next stage of his career, his new team has to figure out how to clear enough cap space to make it happen. That means their two main centers, Andrew Bogut and Festus Ezeli, will have new homes. With Ezeli, it's a pretty simple solution. He was a restricted free agent after they tendered a qualifying offer before free agency began.

According to Marc Spears of ESPN, the Warriors will renounce his free agent rights, releasing the qualifying offer and his cap hold. He'll now be an unrestricted free agent and be able to sign with any team. Previously, he would have signed an offer sheet with another team and the Warriors would have had three days to match. The Warriors are reportedly sending Bogut to the Dallas Mavericks to clear his contract off their books in order to sign Durant.

As for Ezeli, he could be a very valuable center for someone around the NBA. We've already seen the market get saturated with big contracts. The Los Angeles Lakers agreed to a deal with Timofey Mozgov for four years, $64 million. The Orlando Magic pulled Bismack Biyombo in for four years, $72 million. The Washington Wizards have an agreement with Ian Mahinmi for four years and $64 million. Is there money left for Ezeli?

The Portland Trail Blazers have struck out on Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol during free agency. Perhaps, they'd be interested in grabbing a defensive center like Ezeli, who has blossomed into a quality player under Ron Adams' tutelage in Golden State. Ezeli has had injury problems during his brief career, but he's a player who can have an impact when he's inserted into the game. He struggled at various times during the playoffs and especially the NBA Finals, but many believe he's better than that showing.

I do think GSW has some holes still. Losing two big bodies like that. They can restore depth but they don't have it yet.

Zaza is a solid player, good rebound, decent defense but far from a shot-blocking presence and an injury risk to boot. Still plenty of time in the offseason but I have a feeling we're gonna see a lot more of this KD-revised death lineup with Dray at C.

Hopefully they aren't able to bring in another guy for cheap that could really keep Tristan and company off the glass, but they will. Ultimate ring-chaser destination, I'm sure they'll fill those 20-24 MPG where they need an interior presence within a couple days. Ugh. Hopefully they strike out for the rest of the offseason but I wouldn't hold my breath.

You got this, King.

Good Riddance. Arguably the reason we lost game 7.

Totally agree

The worst part is is how he used to be so bad... then he came a long way, and then after all that he collapsed backwards into his old self

My tears from the 19th which was my Birthday have dried up but my dislike of the Festering Plague that was Ezeli will never disappear.

Lets get this Bro.!

not ezeli's fault he couldnt guard Lebron. if you expect ezeli to guard the greatest player in the planet then thats your problem

All he had to do was raise his hand. Lebron had been bricking the whole game. Even if he blew past Ezeli he had been riming his layups too. But The Blame still rests on Kerr and the Splash Bros.

I'm not angry at Barnes anymore. It's obvious it was a mental issue. I hope he plays up to his contract. Good Luck with Black Falcon will watch the Mavs this season because of him.

Wonder what the market for him is. Though would be hilarious if he took a 1+1 deal for MMLE in Cleveland "to prove his worth."

we expect ezeli to be able to look the correct direction and be able to move his feet and not leave wide open lanes to the basket

it wasn't that he got beat by lebron, ezeli had a total mental and fundamental collapse on both sides of the ball

These guys don't know what they are talking about, if they watched the game closely they would of seen how Ezeli wasn't able to give them 60 seconds of solid basketball on either side of the ball

He was a nervous wreck with his deer in the headlights look as players blew by him and he dropped passes and missed easy putbacks, he suddenly and surprisingly returned to Ezeli from 2013

Pachulia helps make up for the loss a little bit. Hopefully some of the draft picks end up being serviceable as well.

Still sad about Boges :(

Yeah, it had nothing to do with Steph Carried in the final 4 minutes doing behind the back passes out of bounds and putting up multiple airballs from 3. Yeah, let's go with that.

I would have been fine if he just stood there and did nothing. Even if he got blown by I would have been fine.

LMAO at this ugly looking jerk off. LeBron at his current age still has a 40 inches vertical leap.

Really Kerr's fault for playing him. Hasn't been the same since the knee surgery and it was evident out there. Timing was off, made mental makes that cost them game 7. Guy clearly had trouble doing the things he used to. Easy to see why Warriors want to part with him.
